Big fan of Syndergaard from his draft year. I think his upside is only a notch below Wheeler. Harvey/Wheeler/Syndergaard could be an excellent 1-2-3.

Everyone forgets Fulmer, too.

Fulmer is going to be a #2 at some point. Hell of a prospect.

Valdespin was never really a hyped-up prospect though. I don't ever remember him being a top ten prospect in our system. I followed him because he was intriguing, but he never really had the status of those other guys.

If thats the case I really hope he doesn't settle.

The courts won't hold up the MLB's witch hunt.

Pure speculation. A-Rod is trying to decide between accepting a suspension for this year and next, and being able to give a Ryan Braun-type BS mistakes 'apology' without actually admitting anything, and being banned for lifetime, going to an arbitrator or court, and having all the evidence bared to the public. With luck he would get the lifetime ban reduced to...being suspended this year and next.

He's probably trying to figure out which alternative is less painful for him.

Either way Selig has finally got him.

He decided not to, because ratings were up after the sport was looking dead in America.

Thanks to the union drug testing didn't begin until 2003. And even then the union made sure the testing was as minimal as possible, with no ramifications whatsoever for the cheater who was caught.

MLB had a chance to change that. They claimed they wanted drug testing in the late 90s or early 00s but ended up taking other concessions from the PA instead.

I watch hockey, football, and boxing primarily. 3 sports that have a whole different set of problems, but they always keep me entertained.

mcgwire also hit 70 at age 35. Sosa went from a career high 40 to 66 as well. Bonds went from career high 49 to 73,

Because you still have to have the talent to hit the ball? Everyones body reacts differently? Training regimens when on them need to change. etc.

Why can't this be said when people try to say roids help, then?

You still have to have the talent. So, it can turn a good player into a great player but not a minor leaguer into a major leaguer? Why is that so easy to pass off as true but saying Barry Bonds was the best hitter of his generation roids or no roids not true?
