We should be content if we got a 1st for Bernier. DL asking for 1st and a prospect is just posturing imo. But then again, it really depends on how much and how well he plays in the playoffs. Assuming, we make it to the PO of course.

When I say BPA, I mean BPA on the kings draft board.

Cause the Kings staff is going to pick their guy, in the later rounds.

The First round is the only area I think BPA should apply. That picking your guy hasn't worked for Lombardi in the First round.

Maybe save Doughty/Pearson.

But Doughty was not some stretch, he was a legit top two player.

I figured that was what you meant.

I always hear that DL hasn't done well in the first round and there is certainly the Tuebert debacle to use to support that position but other than that I think DL has had a successful first round history.

All of them are either in or on their way to the NHL. Even Colton has played in the NHL. Not always the best indicator of first round success but it is noteworthy.

I am not going to whine about the first round picks like I use too.

The Draft is a giant crap shoot, if you get two NHL roster players out of each draft...You did your job.

The Bruins and Kings since 2006 have done that in spades.

We will (IMO) get a goalie, I expect that to be in round 4 or 5. After that, it'll be BPA. I don't think we need anything (other than to grab a goalie) in DL's opinion (and Futa's/Hextall's)so all our other picks will be split between forward and D.

I'm still hoping we move up into the 1st round, hopefully getting a guy like Hagg. He's the one I think will be a good steal at the draft.

He plays the game and would be a third pairing guy. I kinda of want to say Dylan mcllrath but not as good defensively.

He would be ideal for the role that he plays. I can't see the guy getting out muscled or even losing a fight. I'm sure will here some pre-draft hype.

Would love to see another skilled forward out of the first if we can sneak in or take one in the second.

I'm not big on drafting another goalie but if they do they'll take another andreoff, Clifford type player too.

Specific players I'm thinking the Kings target:
Zach Nastasiuk. Given Futa's connections to Owen Sound, he HAS to be on their radar. He's a tough forward.

Hudson Fasching. Big potential power forward, already 6'2, but oozes character. He has spent his life taking care of his two siblings with genetic conditions that leave them nearly blind, unable to walk, and unable to talk. He's also committed to Minnesota, and the WCHA is the NCAA division most of Lombardi's collegiate prospects play. His rights are owned by Kelowna.

On an interesting note: As long ss Lombardi's been a GM here, he has drafted at least one participant of the CHL top prospect's game EVERY year.

Who knows what Dean will do. He is one of the most unpredictable GM's come draft day. The only thing that is all but certain is that we will draft a goaltender. After Bernier, we only have 3 goaltenders, only one with immediate potential/ability to be at least a backup. Berube is shaky at best with a probable potential ceiling of only being a backup goaltender, and Gibson is like the Forbort of goalies, even though he has good potential, him reaching it is cloudy and is still quite a few years away.

My wishlist

I hope that the BPA is:

- a right shooting, big, physical winger
- a right shooting, physical stay-at-home d-man
- a big shut-down center

We have several big, left-shooting d-mans (Forbort, Gravel, Roach, Deslauriers, MacDermid) and wingers (Mersch, Schumacher, Kitsyn, Lowry) in our system , but right side is pretty empty. RD-prospects Colin Miller and Nick Ebert are average sized and Paul LaDue is a really longshot. We don't have any physical RW-prospects, which really bothers me.

I hope too, that we trade AND draft a big defensiveminded center. Colin Fraser is a great heart'n'soul player, but we need to replace him sooner than later.

William Carrier please! Big physical player who can play both center and LW.
Big powerful forward has carried his team’s scoring despite having little support.

Great read. The Kings scouts do love their OHL players.

im assuming Bernier has a damn good playoffs and his value increases even more so than varwhatever from the capitals to the avs

So, Colten Teubert-like? :sarcasm:

LaDue is going to be a big surprise IMO. I think he'll be in the kings system within two years. Great diamond in the rough potential.

I agree, Hagg

If we draft any over-agers, look for kids wearing A's or C's or kids like Andreoff, Miller. I agree that they'll draft a goalie and move a goalie (Bernier).

Some guess' that aren't OA's
Cole Cassels
Anthony DiFruscia
Jacob Harris
Jeff Corbet
Ben Harpur
Justin Bailey
Chris Bigras

Just some guess' all in the OHL.

Yes, a player like Tuebert who can play the game. Lol so we all realize Colton didn't make the cut but a player in that mold is needed on the team.
