The prospect to keep an eye on is Nathan Beaulieu whom I believe is still best prospect in the organization. Elite skating, 6'3 puck mover. If his defensive game improves a tad he will make a place for himself in the top 6.

hes way bigger as well wow!

Subban (6'0) norris winner, Emelin (6'2), Gorges (6'0)

Bouillion and Markov are gone after this season i'd wager

Tinordi (6'6), Bealieu (6'2) are both close

Then you have Ellis and Dietz knocking on the door, really well built on D for the next decade or so I'd say if Price can get his act together and Galchenyuk develops into the PPG center we all see him as this team is going to be a joy to watch

By the way guys...I missed 1 guy who was there and I was so under the impression that he wasn't, that I didn't click....but Christian Thomas was there and was great. Yet.....I wonder who that Thomas kid was and thinking he was just an invitation, was about to say that it was a heck of an invitation and we had to retain him in some way.....Kid is not big but seems bulky, skates with great balance and has an obvious INCREDIBLE shot. Almost Collberg like. Awesome day for him. I'll add him to my list.

28-MURPHY: Can somebody sign the kid for god's sake. Well I was sold already, as I had him to be drafted, it really makes NO SENSE that this kid was not drafted. But the guy looks and act like a hockey player. Great technical skater, fast one, moves well, nice agility, very good shot, good slapper, honestly.....this guy, for me, is a KEEPER.

Murphy's issues are mental, not physical. He's going to look great in a situation like this development camp. Not to throw a bucket of cold water on your impression of him, but he needs to be viewed in game situations (like any player) to get a full handle on his game.

Speed, shot, size, it's all there. But he crumbles at times with defensive mental lapses. Nothing that can't be taught out, but for now, he's still going to need to mature. I to agree he should have been drafted at some point.

Yeah, his issues are when he is under duress.

One way to deal with that, like Komisraek in his early days, is you use him as a stay at home d-man with a very good puck mover. I think he has legit NHL upside.

Well this is why my disclaimed at the end. This very 1st day means so much. You don't see everything you've got to say. People who followed me and the reports I did know that if we would have based our final opinions on my reports, Ryan White wouldn't have problem playing in the ECHL, and Juraj Mikus would have won the MVP award by now.

Now....can those mental issues be worked on? Is he the type of guy that would listen and improve? If so, I mean his qualities are so there and it might be worth some extra time.

By the way guys, no problem it's fun writing those reports though I have to say, since I've started doing it for quite some time now...it was the longest one of them all. Not sure if a regular season next year, we will then see 2 development camps as we saw in the past but I know that this one here, is a lot of job. As far as going back....don't know yet. Would have gone back tomorrow but it is UFA day and I don't want to miss it. So I might actually eat right now and go right after today. And then go back Sunday. We'll see.

Just want to also say that the guys that are handling the exercises are tons of guys I don't know but mostly Sylvain Lefebvre, Donald Dufresne, Patrice Brisebois and Martin Lapointe. Also there's a Q coach that we invited that I don't really remember his name. I'll try to find it. Others seems to be you regular skating specialists.

I wouldn't worry too much about Fucale. He's a money goalie and it doesn't surprise me at all if he lets in a lot of goals during practice, I think he's more focused on the economy of his movements that "stopping" the shot at all costs.

Also, I agree we should contract Murphy and Trainor.

Don't worry. I'm not worried. Was really in a fun way. I have a lot of confidence in him. In no way did I want him at 25. But 36 was key. Especially since we would not have been able to draft Jarry or Desrosiers at 55. Left us Bergvik later on though but he would have been a high risk/high reward pick and somehow, I figure the Habs wanted something safer and good. We got it.

Geez, let's not get carried away and expect a point per game guy on defence. I see a fairly consistent 40 point guy with some years where he'll get in the 50's. Especially if he and Subban become the PP point guys (as it should be down the road).

41- CONDON: Okay so every goalie let it some bananas, but the guy who impressed me the most today is HIM. Wow...impressive leg work. So fast with his legs, though I could suspect he might have, in a game situation, have some trouble with the rebounds, in the end, he, for me, looked like the best goalie of the 6 today. Again....see the pattern.....he is one of the oldest too. Seemed big out there, played big, but again, most impressive trait....how fast he is with his legs.

Projecting near point per game production for ANY defenceman is a stretch, only a select few can even be considered for it and Letang is one (in part because he plays with Crosby and Malkin, granted). Subban is another.

There's nothing wrong with projecting 40-50 points for Beaulieu.

I think that's his ceiling, and his floor is a 25-30 pt number 4 dman with pp time.

The big thing will be how he matures in his own end, and begins to read the play with experience.
