Buchnevich played yesterday. He only played 5 shifts in the first, then was out the rest of the game. I don't know if he was benched or if it was due to injury.

He played another game today - 13:47 TOI in Severstal win over Amur. It's likely that Severstal is not going to make play-offs for Gagarin Cup so I wonder if there are any alternatives for him to play after the regular season is over?

Awesome game for Duclair tonight - 2 goals, 1 assist on a 4-2 win to break a 5 games losing streak, several other offensive chances created by him, and above everything, what he gave a glimpse of at 16 years old and that he lacked for a big part of his 17 years old season, dynamism! His assist shows it well, pressured the opposing defenceman behind his net to recover the puck and pass in front for the goal.

If only we had a time machine. This offensively challenged team could use him.

No, he signed with his hometown team, Malmo. They were just relegated to Allsvenskan this year. Malmo has a good club, there's a good chance they'll win their way back into the SHL for next season.

No, Not really. Malmö IF was relegated from ES to Allsvenskan at the end of the 2006/2007 season. They have not played in Elitserien (SHL nowadays) since.

Anthony Duclair had 2 goals and 1 assist last night. He now has 11 points in 8 games.

Troy Donnay recorded his first point in 7 games, an assist.

Mackenzie Skapski stopped 25 of 27 shots for Kootenay to improve to 3-2-1 on the season.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's showing excellent progress for a kid his age in that league and with the limited ice time he's had, no?

Well he had 2 PPG in one game, and this is his first goal since then. I can't comment on his on-ice progress since I haven't seen him, and the statistics don't tell you much. That said, the mere fact that he's sticking in the league as an 18-year old is encouraging. His play must be improving--today he earned almost 18 minutes of ice time.

So who are we in the lottery for to go #1 overall this june?

If we don't continue to **** up, look for guys like Reinhart-C, Ekblad-D, Nylander-LW, Draisaitl-LW, Bennett-C to be a decent top 5. Here's Craig Button's latest ranking on the prospects: http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=49649

Edit: I would love Draisaitl if we can't get Reinhart or Ekblad and also Nick Ritchie has gotten a lot of spark recently jumping from No. 20 to No. 9.

Ritchie and Barbashev are two top picks who hit and will throw down.

not that it will happen but if the Rangers are drafting top 5 I want the purest of pure offensive talent. No Ekblad, no Nick Ritchie. The purest scorer available in the draft. Exactly what this team needs. Everything else comes second, in my opinion.

This times 1000.

If Nylander keeps playing like this his draft stock will drop.

I have streamed a couple of the games and 41 year old Michael looks more like the player with an NHL future.

Not saying he isn't a top prospect, but you expect good results from an offensive minded 2nd division kid aiming to go in the top 5

almost all of the league's best power forwards were drafted outside the first round. Because in most situations, they were players drafted as pugilists that had developed their offensive game as their careers went on (Clowe, Lucic, Dave Schultz, Simmonds). The others, were drafted insanely high (E Kane, Hartnell, Iginla, Neely, etc). The only "middle grounder" I can think of right now is Corey Perry, but he's such a ***** he barely counts. This is because it's really very rare a player plays a complete power-forward game in juniors, it's incredibly rare actually. Which is why if we're aiming to add some kind of hopeful power forward, draft PIM hoarders a lot in late rounds please and thank you.

If the Rangers are picking in the top 5 (doubt it) I want Draisaitl. The kid is a monster and is putting up those types of numbers in the WHL, which isn't easy.

Duclair has impressed me although the Ramparts have been awful. I've been trying to watch more CHL this season, specifically Rangers prospects, and it's honestly been laughable how bad Quebec has looked (especially that 11-2 loss to Val D'or, oof). Really like what I'm seeing out of Duclair though, he looks quick and poised.

Guys, this is the thread for prospects in our organization. It is not a draft thread. Please stay on topic. Thanks.
