Nearly every goalie in the league that achieved UFA status is overpaid to some degree, even the elites. Shesterkin and Vasilevky are great, but not worth near those contracts. Same with Bobrobsky. It’s unfortunately a position that forces an overpay for anyone other than total fliers, and even then you can only get value for one year if they perform.
there's a thing called an open market. they are not overpaid.

f***ing gross this f***ing league.

Someone should Raffi Torres/Scott Stevens knock his the f*** out next game he plays. Like one of those ugly ones that makes everyone worry lol. Then everyone can "act" surprised this happened.

"The full ruling, available here, is incredibly detailed. While Bettman calls Hartman’s recent track record of suspensions (four within the last 22 months) “an unenviable record and a pattern of malfeasance,” he did agree with the NHLPA’s assertion that an increase of seven games from Hartman’s most recent discipline “is excessive in this case and that the quantum of increase should be reduced.”

So what he's saying is that his buddy grossly screwed up in not increasing the number of games Hartman was suspended each time in that short time frame of four suspensions in less than 2 years. Imagine if real world sentences worked that way - 'Jimmy was caught stealing from the store three times in the last couple of years, and he was given a total of 3 days in jail. He now just murdered 73 people, but we can't increase his sentence too much as the quantum of increase can't be too much.'

quantum of increase

That is a phrase I never thought I would see on this board.

Joke bottom-tier league, and yet they'll froth at the next chance to make an example out of the next star to get frustrated with the lack of calls going their way

I wonder how Stutzle feels that the PA that's supposed to protect him is lobbying against the guy whos trying to end his career.

The PA and the NHL is such a joke.
