How has Ryan Graves been doing? Haven't heard about him in a minute. He was having a pretty decent season for a stay at home Dman. I still wanted Jordan Subban who is having a decent season.

Calle Anderson is a big kid with good skills but very raw. He's a project which is a reason he was a mid round pick. No idea how his skills will translate to the NHL yet.

The 2010-11 and 2011-12 Rangers core has been 75% broken up so a lot has to go right with the first year kids in Hartford, and also Duc, Buch if this team wants to contend again in 2-3 years. Rangers really need to have a mid-late round pick become a true gem. They're overdue.

It's interesting you guys bring up Calle Andersson. I read a scout doing an interview somewhere that really thinks highly of him. As an offensive NHL defenseman.

I haven't seen him play outside of highlights, so I have no idea as to why he would base that on.

For those that have seen him, is he an A+ skater and puck handler?

He is raw and a project, but there are a few things to like about him. He fires the puck real well. Right handed shot. He moves pretty well, but he is quite thick/heavy so it's not like he is super quick.

He missed the entire off-season and first month of this year due to a surgery. I've not followed him extensively, but he seems to be having a bit of an up and down year.

He was real good in rookie camp for us, when do we have to sign him? This summer? It would be good if we could give him another couple of years in Europe.

Since being traded to Val-d'Or he's been outstanding. Making life horrible for other players (he's on their first pair with Guillame Gelinas), getting chances, shutting down the opposition, etc. He has 4 shots through one period against Quebec, and (somewhat sadly) he's doing a great job keeping Anthony Duclair in check right now. He's not very forgiving, and exploits the undersized Q players with his 230 pound frame.

And he has an assist of Mantha's goal tonight as well.

Duclair finishes the game with two goals and an assist.

Ryan Graves with an assist

That was about as wide open hockey as you'll find. Ryan Graves was the only Val-d'Or defenseman to have a positive +/-.

Duclair now has 74 points in 46 games. On pace for 110 points.

Love hearing all these good things about the young crop. Especially when they are facing off against one another.

I didn't see it mentioned, but Buchnevich had 2 assists yesterday for Severstal. He now has 15 points in 34 games, which is quite good.

Watched Fogarty play for a bit before going out last night. Dude is seriously a load, but he moves his body well for a big man. Not fast, but nimble. Decent hands, too. Reminds me a little bit of a poor man's Johan Franzen.

Interesting stats about Duclair:

There really is a clear top 9 in the QMJHL including Quebec. Only 7 points separate the 1st rank from the 9th.

Against the other 8 best teams, Duclair played 25 games and scored 24 goals. He also added 17 assists for 41 points in 25 games against the top of the league.

Against the bottom 9, he played 21 games and scored 18 goals. He also added 15 assists for 33 points in 21 games.

He has 0,96 goals per game and 1,68 points per game against the best teams in the league.

He has 0,86 goals per game and 1,57 points per game against the bottom of the league.

More like fantastic for a player of his age.

Can't help but compare his numbers to Cherepanov, not at the same level, but its always good to see an 18 year old playing decently, the KHL is tougher now than it was 5 years ago as well.

Duclair got 1 assist today on the EN goal in a 3-0 win. He could have scored but made a pass to his teammate.

Maybe another star of the week nomination. 5 goals and 3 assists in 3 games.

Noreau jumped off the bench to join a fight in Greenville's game today, so he'll likely be gone for 10 games.
