Cousins has been horrible this game so far. He throws hard but not much else.
Of course. You expect him to do anything in this weather? Still an upgrade over Geno. Wish the Jets had him.
An upgrade? Not sure how you can say that based on limited playing time. He's a QB who throws hard. I don't really see how he's an upgrade. If anything, he probably would have struggled worse on the Jets than Smith did (at least Smith knew how a ****** O-Line felt last year in WV).
Geno!
Edit- Didn't mean to quote for that. I'd say he's upgrade. Geno makes a lot of horrible decisions, you can blame the lack of talent around him but he's made so many bonehead plays. And IMO he doesn't know how to use his athleticism, despite the fact he has decent-good athleticism.
I hope he turns it around, but I don't know, maybe after watching the Jets QB's the past decade I've just lost all faith. lol
He makes "boneheaded" plays because he was thrust into the fire without any time to learn. No idea what you wanted from a 2nd round rookie QB. If you can't live with growing pains, then I have no idea what to say to you.
The guy is obviously a better player when he has actual receivers (i.e. Kerley) playing. It's night and day. Hell, he made Nelson look good last week when guys were doubling Kerley.
Geno does just about everything on a higher level than Cousins other than Cousins is a better game manager.
How can you possibly say this? Geno played in Big 12 last year in college where they neglect to play any defense. He didn't impress me. Cousins beat the Ravens last year coming into the game as a 4th round rookie. Thrown into the fire and actually delivered.
So his one game is all you need to see?
I'll just point, then, to Geno torching Clemson in the Orange Bowl with all of their NFL caliber defenders. Oh wait, it doesn't count since it's a game Geno played.
I get it. You don't like the guy. However, you dismissing all of his college play is pretty laughable. I mean, Cousins played in a horrible Big 10. I'd take the Big 12 competition any day of the week compared to the laughably bad Big 10.
And I don't see how what you said addresses anything I wrote. Geno is a harder thrower, he has better downfield accuracy, better mid range accuracy, is a better runner, etc. Cousins makes some better decisions now because Geno is suffering from PTSD behind that offensive line, still.
Bash the Big Ten all you want. At least they played defense. Geno has accuracy? Since when. Better runner okay Geno has that. Harder thrower doesn't equal success at all. Kellen Clemens threw one of the hardest balls I've ever seen.
The Big 10 doesn't play defense or offense. It's a worse league than the ACC. And that's saying something.
Geno has had better accuracy all throughout his career until he got shell shocked starting for the Jets. I watched both guys extensively in college (every game of Geno's and a lot of Cousins's).
Cousins is just not anywhere near as good as you think he is.
And I saw every game of Cousins. I'll just agree to disagree here since I know either of us won't change our opinions. Also Big Ten isn't as bad as everyone thinks.
TD GENO!
Eli Manning hurt. Oh boy.
The Big 10 is terrible. No idea how you could say anything but, man.
Because the perception comes from Michigan being irrelevant for like the 10th straight year. Michigan State is one of the best teams in the nation. Best defense in the nation, Ranked 4th, but they don't get talked about that much. Ohio State and Wisconsin are also pretty good teams. Big Ten is very average IMO.
Geno definitely looking more improved. Johnathon, I give credit when it's due. I'll eat crow as long as this continues.
There are three OK teams. Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan State.
Everyone else is generally a doormat. Wisconsin is good now and then but hardly consistent.
The Big 10 is trash.
Rankings in order:
SEC
Pac
Big 12
ACC
Big 10
AAC
OK do you mean this year? Because MSU would beat anyone in the Big 12. Michigan is terrible. Ohio State is pretty good. So is Wisconsin. And for all the SEC love, why can teams like Texas A&M and Missou be mediocre in the Big 12 and then dominate for spans in SEC.
