Guess it's a new rule? I knew the leverage rule where they jump up on top of the guy to try and block the kick. Never heard of this one till today.

The way I see it that bs call makes up for the equally bs call against the Jets earlier. When Hill caught that strike from Geno for a TD in the endzone they called pass interference on McCourty's divejob. Hill's arms don't even move game shouldn't even have gone to OT.

It was somewhat. But I guess rules are rules, and at some point those usually overseen, or rather loosely handled ones, get called.

Anyhow, the Jets D was blitzing a little too much for my taste, late in the 4th. Seemed too risky to me.
Yep, things even out. I agree that it's a silly rule, but it is what it is. Everyone has to abide by them.
Mortinweig is a ******* moron. 2 incomplete passes. In the drive NE actually only used 1 TO but if they had only had 1 TO to work with it may have caused them to fail. Then again it may have caused them to go no huddle even faster and score a TD. In the end terrible calls. 3rd and 5 all you need is 2 more yards for a makeable FG and we give it to Bohanon AGAIN for a 2 yard LOSS. Thank God the ref gives us the most ticky tack call ever. Rushing 2 and 3 guys at the end. I want Rex for at least 1 more season but I'm getting more and more pissed off especially at his inability to close games late Defensively during his entire run as NYJ coach. Him and Rob

Way too many garbage rules in this league that have a direct effect at the end of a close game.
I'll take it as a Jets fan, but thats some grade A ******** that the Pats usually get in their favor.

and I had no problem with the Jets going for the win on the drive before the Pats tied it.
You don't want to give Brady a chance to win or tie. Its very likely he gets at least a FG if he gets the ball back.. go for the first and don't let Brady take the field.

Makes sense though.
The front 7 were blitzing too much, leaving the secondary without much support. Too aggresive.
Playing a little bit more balanced against strong passing teams would help.
