Whether he admits it or not...I 100% believe Nash really wants to get back asap and put up some points so he can cement his team Canada spot.

Yes, I believe he is fully cleared and feeling good. If he wasn't no way the Rangers doctors would sign off. But do I think he may be pushing to shave a week or two off his conditioning phase? I do.

Still, a 75% conditioned Nash is better than whoever he would push out of the lineup. Particularly if they start him slowly on Brassard's line.

Very good sign. This is after travelling with the team to Montreal and participating in a couple of full practices w/ contact. All indications point to him rejoining the lineup this week.

How do you think AV slots him in? You can't break up the KreiDerRello line. So it's either put him with your most consistent forward all year (Richards) or with a guy that needs a jump start (Brassard).

Hagelin - Richards - Nash
Boyle - Brassard - Cally

That's what I'd like to see. Either way Miller definitely should be sent down. Playing 8 minutes a night with no PP/PK time is not doing much for his development.

I think Miller is providing more value to the team than Pouliot is. It's debateable whether 8-10 mins/night with the Rangers is more valuable than 16-18 mins with the Wolfpack. But I don't think he's being hurt. And AV does roll his lines pretty nicely.

I'm thinking they're talking about every line except Kreider/Steps/Zucc. I'm giving this coaching staff enough credit and faith that they wouldn't be stupid enough to do that.

Man pouliot just puts a damper on my day. That 3rd line LW is a sore spot and will continue to be. Pouliot will probably hit a productive streak, but it'll only be temporarily.

Getting a LWer and a RHD needs to get done by trading MDZ. Unless they feel McI is ready (which I don't think he is ready for full time NHL duty, but close though).

thats why

you play jt miller in pouliots spot and keep pouliot as the spare forward. nash will be on first line with richards and hagelin 8n million dollar players don't play third line. i think richards and nash would have some chemistry. richards is not the same player as last year. cally will drop down with brassard (which will only help brassard) and god hopes miller. that could be a real effective line. moore boyle dorsett as a 4th. good solid line up up and down the roster.

Can I ask why the Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello line is untouchable?

They've been pretty good at times, but by no means a sacred cow as far as Im concerned.

Agreed.

I think Kreider-Stepan-Nash would be just as effective and have actual finish. Zucc is a water bug out there and I like how he has been playing but I don't think it's dependent on being with those two.

Yeah, Kreider-Step-Zucc has had issues scoring, and from the way some people talk about that line one would think they are producing more than they have. The last time that line scored was against Pittsburgh almost two weeks ago. I wouldn't be opposed to adding Nash on that line at all.

There is no point in messing with Kreider-Stepan-MZA when you have so many other players that could use a better fit.

Richards has been abysmal. Callahan hasn't been much better. Hagelin has been invisible. Brassard has done nothing.

Keep Richards on the wing. He looks gassed playing pivot. Give him and Brassard a chance to play with a goal scorer like Nash.

Bump Cally and Hagelin to the 3rd line. Let them play a semi-checking role. Get back to basics. Cally will still get his PP goals. Boyle centers the 3rd line to start. If Boyle struggles and/or Moore finds his game then switch them. Moore is 33 and missed a year with some serious personal issues, but he's always had decent offensive skills. Maybe something clicks and he has a few months of solid 2-way play left. But as long as the offensive expectations aren't too high I think Boyle can handle it.

PooPoo and Dorsett round out the 4th line. Hope for high energy with only a reasonable amount of PIMs.

Send Miller down to play center. Hope that Miller or Lindberg are ready to fill that 3rd line center role in the near future.

Richards-Brassard-Nash
Kreider-Stepan-MZA
Hagelin-Boyle-Callahan
Pouliot-Moore-Dorsett

I think, for some posters, its about being able to call fan favorites like Kreider and Zuccarello "1st liners" rather than whats best for the team.

Whats best for the team is a healthy Nash getting big minutes on the 1st line.

exactly

but with nash paired with richards they draw the teams best defensive pairs. i believe the thinking is to get stepan kreider n zucc away from those match ups they have been drawing the last 2 weeks
