And, Millard is sticking with his source despite Zipay's contrary statement.

Daren Millard ‏@darenmillard 1m

I trust the source. NYR very tight lipped. Best news is rick Nash is making progress.

I'm not sure why you think Gross wouldn't be aware of what's going on around practice. Plus, he's around the team a lot (except for the west coast swings) and generally has good information. And Zipay also shot down the rumor. I'm just more inclined to believe the people around the team on a regular basis.

According to these guys Nash was at the practice facility this morning getting concussion testing.

Zipay also once reported that Brad Stuart was traded to the Rangers at the deadline, iirc. Who is to say that Nash skated right before or after practice? It could have been hours before or after when none of the beatwriters were around. Millard is a solid source and it should be apparent that the Rangers's beatwriters have not been getting regular updates about Nash's status, so I don't find it shocking that a national writer may have received a report from someone in the organization that Zipay and Gross were not privy to.

Agreed. If it were Garrioch or, worse, some guy like Eklund, I'd be more inclined to doubt him. But with Millard, you're talking about one of the national Canadian hockey guys. That's a pretty serious source. Meanwhile, most of the Rangers' beatwriters - outside of crazy uncle Larry - are pretty much just punching the clock and do very little other than file their game stories.

I don't think any of those guys have broken news ever. People get on Brooskie but he's the only one reporting rumors or things he's heard. The rest just report what they see at the practices/games or what they hear directly from the team.

By the way, It was single malt scotch. If I wouldn't know he is concussed I would never thought so. Nash looked absolutely healthy and happy just like all of them. They were all wearing Rangers hats.

John Shannon said Nash will be back in 10 days-2 weeks. Nash saw with a concussion specialist today at the Rangers facility. The specialist is from Michigan.

When/where did he say that?

The videos contradict each other. Rotoworld has a link saying no progress and growing concern. I saw him then say 10 to 14 days. They are idiots it's one or the other so it tells me they don't know

I see no reason why the Rangers would keep good news hush hush. You have to figure the beat writers would be hearing at least something vague about progress and improvements if it were the case he was only 2 weeks away from returning.

Sounds like a load of ******** if you ask me.

Just spoke with John Shannon, he clarified that Nash was at the practice facility and met with concussion expert. He never said he skated.

Confirmed!
