I don't think so. I don't remember downloading any additional software when I bought it.

It's totally worth it.

I gave it to my brother to watch Rangers games at school since he's in Philly market. He says quality is great. And when the Rangers aren't playing I use it to watch out of market games, the Wolf Pack and my new team, the Saginaw Spirit. I love it.
 
I think we could be on to something here.

Swap the big club with the farm team and get a Calder Cup while hitting and punching our way to Aaron Ekblad!
 
Forwards Chris Kreider and J.T. Miller were both expected to make the New York Rangers squad coming out of training camp. As young players, both could have taken the demotion to play in the AHL poorly and sulked. There have certainly been a plethora of those. Anyone remember how Sean Avery took it? But with Rangers Assistant General Manager Jeff Gorton and Director of Professional Scouting, Kevin Maxwell and a gaggle of other scouts in the XL Center Sunday afternoon, the two young men sent a loud and clear message that they are going to make a strong push to be back with the Rangers in the NHL sooner, rather than later.

Gorton didn't go to west coast. He could join the team today. Instead of languishing on the beach or playing golf for 4 days in southern California,he stayed behind to work.

So what's the difference with Kreider playing in the AHL verses NHL? Is he himself playing different or just has more room to play well and it's easier? Sounds like he was using his speed, which he hasn't shown a lot in the NHL lately. Just is so weird sometimes at the NHL level when he stands around watching one game, and then the next game he's forechecking hard and skating all over.

I would say it's a combination of both:

1. His speed is more of a factor because the AHL is a slower league than the NHL. You can clearly see it against some players he is torching.
2. He is playing different though; the hesitation he was showing on the forecheck is gone; he is just going full bore at his guy the majority of the time and more often than not winning the battle. Put him in the NHL right now and he could very well still struggle. He needs to continue to play like this, "have the game slow down" even more and on a shift in shift out basis, before I would be comfortable saying he could do the same thing at the NHL level. But even compared to what he did when I watched the Whale last year his play is noticeably more effective.

Except the player you see out there is competing against AHL level competition and not NHL'ers.....
 
like HatTrick pointed out, Kreider is always going to look better against AHL competition, just because it's a much slower league. What we want is for him to push the pace, beat defensemen consistently, and create opportunities off the rush. Calling up Kreider any time soon (not saying it will happen), would be a huge error, he needs to be able to fly at the AHL level at all times, and be noticeable almost every time he's on the ice. If he keeps up this stellar performance for the next 15-20 games or so, I would call him up to the big club. If not, just let him tear apart the AHL and give him a shot next year.
 
Eh I mean last year people said he didn't do these things consistently in the AHL, and we've seen it at the NHL level too. We've seen him play like that and look pretty good at the NHL level, he just needs to freakin' keep playing like that regardless of what level he's playing at.

Kreider has to be the most overanalyzed player in the history of the Rangers. He struggled in the first half of his first pro year. When he was demoted after starting the season with the Rangers,Kreider played much better. He started scoring the types of goals in the AHL which he will need to score in the NHL. Going to the net. The Rangers should keep their young guys in the AHL. They will have an entire new team next season looking at the number of players with expiring contracts. Let the young guys like Kreider and Miller develop by playing big minutes. When they do get the call up,none of this ******** of playing on the 4th line and then being a healthy scratch. If they have a bad game in the NHL,don't bury them. Let them work through it. AV said the vets usually get a longer look at the start of the season. Fine.

I agree with what you said about Aaron Johnson working with MCI. Scott Arniel coached Johnson in junior who I'm sure was brought in for this very thing.

I have no issues with guys not making the NHL team because he didn't do enough to warrant a spot. Kreider as much as I pump him up, dodn't earn a spot on the NHL roster and as such was sent down.

Kreider is a big part of the Rangers future and they want him to develope properly.

I have NO FAITH in this organizations ability to identify talent and LESS FAITH in their ability to develope and mold that talent into productive NHL'ers.

There is NO ORGANIZATIONAL FUTURE for Darrol friggin Powe on the NHL Roster. Why on earth does he get a spot over MSC. The AHL is a DEVELOPMENTAL LEAGUE meant to house those that are not quite good enough for the NHL but to old for Junior Hockey.

MSC should not be wasting his time or effort in the ECHL. Yes he has warts in his game. that is the reason he is in the minors. To be developed by the guys at the AHL level.

The Rangers have been greatly aided by guys that didn't need much developmeent or tutoring. They are piss poor at taking a player that needs work, such as an MSC and bringing him along and teaching him. The ECHL is a garbage league and tearing up that league means jack ****.

He's an offensive player, work with him with that understanding and teach him to be a somewhat responsible player defensively while allowing the offensive aspect of his game to blossom.

He should not have been sent to the ECHL, seems like the easy way out of a teaching situation.

Powe is playing a defensive role in the AHL. MSC needs time to develop physically and learn how to play against grown men. The ECHL is a good spot for him to get a lot of minutes and do just that.

Yogan was sent down last year and came on like gangbusters when he was recalled. Some players take more time to develop.

That is what the AHL is for.

Yogan being sent to the ECHL is alot different than sending MSC, a guy that has averaged 90 points a season for three straight years in Juniors.

regardless of role that Powe is playing, he's got no future value to the Rangers organization and instead of giving a spot to some fringe player at both teh NHL and AHL levels, they should be teaching MSC how to eat/workout so that he gets stronger physically and as that happens, naturally he will learn how to play against men.

I don't want to come off as cheerleading the guy but your comments on Lindberg seem unnecessarily harsh considering it's literally two games into the season for a guy trying to adjust to a different style game and different size ice

Why? Yogan was more physically ready for the AHL than MSC is right now.

The AHL is for development, yes. But you don't want to ruin a kids confidence. The ECHL is for development as well.

Talk about an overreaction. Your AHL team can't be all prospects and young players.

Besides, St. Croix hardly did anything to even warrant an AHL spot. He was invisible in the prospects tourney.
