“@AGrossRecord: Boyle is going to look for a bigger role when he hits free agency. AV told him today he'd continue in current role next year here.”

Based on this, my official predication is that Moore stays, Boyle goes. Not unlike what I expected. We can get Moore for half the price and he does a better job when asked to move up in the lineup.

We do lose a lot of heart and size with Brian Boyle.

Bye-bye Boyle :( He was SO GOOD here when we finally had a coach who used him the right way. I'm afraid (for Boyle) if he goes somewhere else where he's thrown into more of a role that Torts used him in, he won't really excel.

Still expect him to get a Prust like, or even larger contract on the open market. Good for him.

Boyle you ****ing clown you are a stellar 4th line role player. Just embrace that and come back next year ding dong.

Sounds to me that he's most concerned about term. He knows that he'll get the right $ from the Rangers.

If I was calling the shots I would give him term. However, with Girardi signing a new deal, Klein left with multiple years, and Allen and McIlrath very close, I don't think the Rangers front office would.

Can't blame Boyle for thinking that way. He's a 3rd liner on most of the teams in the league, but not necessarily most of the good ones.

I can't see him getting more than 2.2 in FA.

If he's gone it's a big loss due to the PK reasons.

Was literally just about to post this.

I'm sure he misses playing 15 minutes+ under Torts.

He will get a stupid contract on the market. A worse player in Boyd Gordon got 3 years at 3 million per.

Boyle said he'd like more responsibility. "Everyone knows what I think of New York and the Rangers."

Yup. Bye Boyler.

Let him be a clown 3rd liner on another team... no one is gonna give him a bigger role when he has one 21 goal season... and then one 11 goal season... after that the next highest is 6

Goal totals from the NHL

And i do want him to stay I loved the fourth line this year

Exactly. I'd rather be a 4th liner on a contender than a 1st liner on Florida. Getting paid is one thing but trying to be more than what you are as a player is foolish.

Hell what do we know though? Maybe Sather said they can't afford him and it was time to move on. Maybe this is his media friendly excuse.

Side effect of a deep playoff run is that our free agents are put on tryout exhibition for 29 other teams. Impossible to fly under the radar

It feels like we always lose everyone.

Why is the Bruins 4th line okay with being 4th liners. We have a good 4th liner and he wants to go play more elsewhere.

Yup.

Not gonna work out.

Can't really blame him for chasing the money, I guess, since he's never been a big $ player, and he needs to live, may want to support a family down the road if he doesn't already have one, may want to leave his kids in a good place way down the road if he has any. But, damn, I'd love to see him stick around here.

Absolutely correct.

Simply playing in the Stanley Cup Finals raises your stock.

I wouldn't be surprised to see all of our FAs leave, and that would be devastating.
