good, and this solid for the Bruins, and since I'll readily admit its all about me and anything I like (yah, I'm selfish and openly admit it) this is good....nice move Chia managing that cap

wish I was with you Dom

Haha. I'm up in my little corner Dan. You should be here.

1 eye on the game and 1 eye on my texts and trying to post what I can here when there's a whistle.

Need an extra pair of hands

If the cap is $63.5M, that will give the Bruins around $6.2M to spend (based on players currently under contract). I'm not at all clear if Savard is included in their current cap projection - it seems to, in which case it seems like they should have around $10M to work with. That covers 16 players.

RFAs will include Rask and Caron. UFAs will include Thomas, Horton, Khudobin, Ference. If they have $10M to spend, it seems like they're in pretty good shape to keep what they choose to from that group, while filling out the roster and not being forced to unload players whey want to keep.

Not saying anything about whether this is all good or bad, just recapping.

underrated part of this lockout will be to see how fat Byfuglien is when it's finished.

Thomas is a no brainer, Ference re-signs for 3 million, Dobby re-signs, Horton is either traded at the deadline or re-signed for 5 million

A lot can change between now and the summer though, I believe in PC, he'll make it work

Krejci is traded to Calgary at the 2013 NHL Entry draft for the 5th pick and Johnny Gaudreau.

Horton is re-signed if he seems back to normal during this season.

I had season tickets that year but grabbed a 10 game pack for the Lock Monsters; I never felt they were going to play at all and we had a big hockey draft here on HF

That was a war over the cap and I was sick of being the Red Wings and Rangers ***** so I was for equality, this is just two fat kids fighting over who gets to go first in the buffet line

This is my issue W/ MLB. There is so much entitlement in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. I'm glad to see the Blue Jays spend some money, and I was happy that Baltimore and Oakland threw a monkey wrench into things this year.

DarrenDreger: @Real_ESPNLeBrun.Believed to be less than $2mil gap on cap. Important issue to PA for players and families impacted by team cap management.

What will happen to players that are bought out? I know how the old system worked in terms of doubling the term of the deal and using what, half of the dollars? Did the player get the entire buy out number up front? What would it amnesty buyouts look like?

Told NHLPA has moved on the salary cap to 64.3 which happens to be the upper limit from last year. #TSN

That's more like it.

Doh, thought that was NHL, not NHLPA.

C'mon, NHL, sign off on that at least.

Sources on both sides see Monday as likely date when all is settled. But could be late Sunday, as well
