I know this is a bit OT, but are there any draft junkies in here? I'm looking for opinions on Anthony Bennett. His offensive game seems enticing, but I've read claims that he has a low basketball IQ and slow feet on defense, especially guarding small forwards. How do people think he'd look guarding NBA 4s?

He's a project. I know its cliche to say that but we've seen a trend where guards can come right in and contribute while forwards take much longer to develop.

This is a really weak draft. In fact, one of the weaker drafts in years. Bennett is a classic case of a guy who used his size to take advantage of smaller college players in a weaker conference. He's a power guy, like Larry Johnson in college, but even he became a perimeter player because of inj/size.

This draft should be 70 pct bigs. I can see bennett be a nice role player but that's about it.

Kobe's done for a long time. I wonder what this does to the Lakers. Maybe Howard stays thinking it'll be his team.

Stern probably feels worse than Kobe.

Hopin the Knicks take a PG or a PF... would prefer a PG honestly.

Felton does ok when he's "on"... but he makes too many bone-headed plays thinking he's Chris Paul or something... losing his handle a lot, throwing the ball out of bounds... if he could just settle down and play his game, he's fine, BUT... look at how PG's continue to torch this team, and we definitely need a defensive upgrade there.

Keeping Shump and JR and obviously Melo we're set at SG and SF and Chandler at C... that's where I came up with PG and PF. STAT... who knows if he's ever gonna be the player he was...

Felton is the PG for now, and I have no issues with that. They won 50-plus with him running the point. Hes locked up cheap for a few more seasons. Unless they can get rid of Amare's contract, they really cant make a move.

Its not a strong draft for PG's. I'd go big only because veteran spare big men are so friggin expensive nowadays.

So Dantoni went 38-32 with the Lakers this season. Now he has to clinch and possibly play in the postseason without his best player.

They will get destroyed by OKC. San Antonio, not so much.

Im extremely MEH on Felton. He's like Boyle or something... he's alright when he's alright... and pretty awful when he's awful.

All Felton needs to be is "alright." He's at his worst when he's trying to be more than alright. When he's keeping it simple and running a good pick and roll with Tyson, he's dangerous.

Not gonna find a better PG in this draft where we're going to draft, more likely than not.

Knicks really put the smack down today.

Clinched the No. 2 seed so they can rest.

According to Woodson, Camby, Sheed, martin and Chandler will all be ready for the playoffs.

Where are all those Knicks fans who said they would suck this year because they let Lin go?

Best Knicks team in 20 years. If they have those big men available they will crush Boston.

If they have those big men available the only team beating them is Miami.

damn i was wondering where the nba thread has been now that i actually watch knicks

didn't catch the game today but after watching quite a few games this season im definitely on board. :D

Cope was awesome.

I want Melo, Kidd, Felton, Chandler playing no more than 15 MPG down the stretch. There is nothing to play for. Just stay healthy and fresh for the playoffs.

Melo got beat up hard today. Sit him next game, don't wanna exhaust him, because he is getting physically abused

I think you sit out most of our valuable players, or at least drastically cut out their minutes. There's really nothing else to play for beyond today.

Sit him out next game. Play them half of their normal time game 82. Can't have them going into the playoffs cold

I sit everybody. Maybe let the guys play the last game of the season to mentally prepare to continue playing in the POs.

Only guys who should get real burn against the Bobcats are Novak, Cope, James White, Solomon Jones, and Shump and Prig.

Howard Beck ‏@HowardBeckNYT 5h

Woodson also said he plans to rest starters last two games if Knicks clinch No. 2 seed today.

Clarification re earlier tweet on Rasheed Wallace: There's a chance he could even play Mon at Charlotte. If not, then possibly Weds.

Neither Martin nor Chandler will travel to Charlotte for Monday game, but Woodson said both will be ready by Game 1 of playoffs.

These were from before the game, so good stuff they won today, and can get a rest. Also Sheed!!!

I have to say, I'm finally excited about seeing the Knicks playing meaningful games in the playoffs. I feel we have a great chance of making a ECF run. The past few, there was no hope against Heat/Celtics.

Knicks signed Q-Rich today, always liked him.

Nice to see the Hawks basically quit tonight to play for the 6 seed.

Exactly my point. IF he stays in his game he's fine... its just too often he tries to play beyond his means, and he always gets torched defensively.

I know the Knicks wont be picking high, but with old as hell Kidd and Prigioni behind Felton they definitely gotta grab another PG in the off-season somehow.

This series is gonna be a lot more difficult with the refs

So, should they leave Pierce open or get called for going near him?
