Also, to punctuate the arguing since i'm just happy this team looks as awesome as they do-

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

What is this, Bleacher Report? "Negative loser mentality"?! You sound like Mike Francesa. Amar'e, before he got injured again, was playing fantastic basketball. You can't blame a dude who was straight balling for bringing other guys down, because he WASN'T. Fact of the matter is Carmelo hit a slump and has finally shaken that off over the last two weeks. It has nothing to do with "intangibles."

If nobody has a chance to beat the Heat this year, nobody has a chance to beat them the next few years either, so hoping we get Chris Paul isn't going to change anything. We beat the second best team in the league right now because Raymond, our subpar PG, played a FANTASTIC game with Tyson and the pick and roll.

Are the Heat favorites? Yes. Are they favorites for good reason? Absolutely. They're the best team assembled since the Shaq and Kobe Lakers.

But with Carmelo and JR playing lights out basketball and everybody else playing as they are, the Heat absolutely won't barrel over us. It'll be a hard fought series (if there is a Knicks-Heat series.) If Amar'e comes back and plays like he was before he got injured it'll be that much harder for the Heat to win.

Knicks Record with Amare: 16-13 (Mediocre) (.55 W%)
Knicks Record without Amare: 34-13 (.72W%)

Facts are facts. Amare was trying to be pawned off for free, but no team wanted him because he's a liability. He is a negative influence clearly due to his antics last year's postseason. Punching a fire hydrant and going out with injury, just moronic. Not to mention the suspension in the playoffs vs. the Spurs that cost the Suns a final berth.

Sprained ankle. Just let him sit for the rest of the regular season, he'll be good to go by the POs hopefully.

In fact, let Tyson sit until the PO's, too.

do we own the tiebreaker with indiana?

1-2 vs them with 1 game left vs them, not sure what the next breaker is if the Knicks finish 2-2 vs them. Believe the magic number for the 2 seed is 3.

Also will be nice to see a new Atlantic Division banner in MSG next year. Hopefully that's not the only banner the Knicks raise. :yo:

Some of the comments about Amare are a little unfair.

Dude will be a nightmare for teams if he's healthy, in rhythm, and coming off the bench. The reason he can't be a starter, for this team at least, is his poor defense. That's really the only reason. His offense is there.

If we have him on our 2nd unit with some defensively responsible players around him there is absolutely no reason he can't be a force to be reckoned with. On that 2nd unit he was capable of scoring 22 in 20, as he did numerous times this season. We lost our identity as a team during the middle of season, as a collective team, not because of him.

We regained it when Kenyon came back and started preaching defense again. As long as one of Rasheed or Kenyon is in there with a vocal defensive presence, Amare will be an amazing asset to us.

Amare is useless and immovable. Let him sit out the season and heal up to contribute in 2014 when he will be needed.

I want him nowhere near this team. They dont need him. I wouldnt play him unless they had a 20-point lead with 5 mins left.

Its going to be tough for Melo not getting player of the month in april. That would make two years in a row.

In retrospect, that was one hell of a trade.

I gotta say a little disappointing with the Atlantic Division Champions T-Shirt, and all of the NBA Division Champion T-shirts this year. The "Can't Stop (Insert Team)" is too large and the Division Champions part is too small. Still it is cool they won and another banner goes up in MSG.

For Division Championship shirts, nothing will ever beat the Rangers 94 Atlantic Division one and the Yankees 2012, both had their respective team logos and an image of NY state involved.

With Tyson having injury problems all season and Kenyon's ankle doing what it did last night, Amar'e is far from useless.

Again, the teams rough stretch with Amar'e coincided with Melo being bad. We can blame Amar'e, as the MSM likes to do, or we can blame Melo for being an idiot and waiting forever to get his knee drained/ fasting in the middle of an NBA season. Or we don't have to blame either of them and realize that Amar'e was playing great basketball when he came back and the rest of the team had hit a snag (JKidd and Novak couldn't hit 3's, JR was playing like bad JR and didn't remember how to drive to a rim, Melo was playing like Iverson-lite after NOT seemingly evolving past that for the first part of the season Felton was steadily declining and still chucking up shots, etc.)

I absolutely hope Amar'e is ready for the playoffs.

Again, who cares about excuses? The Knicks are infinitely better without Amare.

If Amare in street clothes makes Melo play better, then he needs to stay in street clothes.

They are a paper tiger with Stat. Unless he's playing 10 mins a game in a limited role, keep him the hell away from this team.

Again...Amar'e in street clothes doesn't make Melo play better. Melo getting his knee drained after being an idiot for a few months and not taking care of it makes Melo play better.

There is a stat somewhere last yr of the Knicks record with both Amare and Melo starting, it was pretty bad, sub .500 I believe. Both are ballhogs, but Melo is 100000000000x the player, so I'd rather have him play. It will always be Melo or Stat, not both.

Fine, let's say you're right.

In what possible world is it not a good thing to have Amar'e coming off the bench as depth, if he plays like he was earlier this season?

So getting back the guy putting up 14 points, 5 rebounds, and shooting almost 60% in just 24 minutes a game is a bad thing?
Sure

Not only that, but Lin has been significantly worse than he was last year. His per 36 numbers are ABYSMAL compared to last year- he's averaging less points, less assists, less rebounds,

If you're into advanced stats, he went from a solid .140 WS/48 last year (bolstered obviously by the fact he only played like 40 games, but still) to a much less pleasant .101 this year.

I'm confident in this front office. The signing of Singleton to replace Kurt Thomas is also an incredibly shrewd move.

kidd was absolutely atrocious defensively the few minutes i just watched. asleep on off the ball cuts to the basket and ran under every single screen that left an uncontested 3 if the bulls chose to take one.
