You are very right here. Especially on the bolded part. This I heard from an NHL guy a week ago that was quite irritated over this situation.

Unfollow? Hey - I follow all the freaks. Even Eklund. Provides comedy. How many official "twitterers" have not been off throughout this process? It is kind of amusing nonetheless.

Drop the puck...

The unfollow remark is just loose internet raging. But I hate that extreme pessimism/optimism. He is a former player, hockey journalist now, covering the lockout, and he is that clueless over next year's cap?

On a side note BBK, is that Kreider cap hit with or without bonuses? Seems like Brooks implied bonuses are not applied to cap or cap floor. Confusing at this point.

this is minor but would alot of teams not carry only 1-2 spares not 3 if the cap goes down a ton?

Would make more sense to find a guy that can serve as a F and Dman, kind of like a utility player in baseball. Then just call up when needed?

John Scott!

Ranger fans always shortchange their own players in free agency. The other players are always better than the Ranger players.Carlson got $4M for his arb years but somehow McD isn't worth the same $4M. Maybe the Rangers thought the 2nd contract would change in the next CBA but it won't. All of the systems are the same.

My 2 cousins are, they're really pissed.

If they really want to get rid of their seats they should just post the season tickets and make a few extra bucks, especially if they have good seats. There are tons of people on wait lists that would buy them. That way when they have calmed down in a month or so they haven't lost the tickets for good, because you are not getting back in for quite some time if you bail now.

McDonagh should get closer, but not Del Zotto. I'm not short changing McDonagh to say that he's going to get similar RFA terms to Marc Staal, adjusted to next summers market value. This should be slightly lower due to environment, despite the actual cap being about the same. This isn't about short changing, it's about being aware of all the factors being involved, including Sathers history with RFAs, arbitration or no.

Also, I'm not sure the arbitrators will take this into account, but McPhee clearly bought two years of UFA eligibility for a higher price on the Carlson deal.

How does 15% lower cap effect arbitration? Arguments could be made both ways to be honest...

That's not really fair...I mean most people can't afford the inventory that's available. So yeah, if you want to spend $240/pair for seasons in the 2nd to last row of the lower level corners sure, go for it. Show me a pair in the first dozen rows anywhere in the upper level and I'll be impressed.

Completely inaccurate

Since we're so off base, can you give us a couple of examples of decent, affordable seats that are available as seasons right now? As far a I was aware, the entire upper bowl has been sold out, and the cheapest available are $100+ seats in the corners/ends of the lower level. If I'm mistaken that's great for those trying to subscribe.

Completely inaccurate

Clarification: Unless you want lower bowl $100+ dollar tickets a game you are out of luck. There is no way you are getting upper level bowl season tickets at this point. So if anyone wants to sell there season tickets they have in the upper bowl they would have NO problem getting someone to buy them, except if they are some unusually crappy location and you would probably still be able to sell them on a game to game basis.

If current season ticket holders such as myself had issues moving around to an affordable section, explain to me how a new time season ticket holder won't have issues.

Because they would rather get someone not currently paying to start paying over someone currently paying to pay less lol

When in mediation, mediator makes the call on when to meet face to face if sides are close in his mind. If that's case could be good sign

Daren Millard ‏@darenmillard
The face 2 face session is another indication of movement. The sides jointly agreed meeting in person was best way to move process fwd.

This could still derail but sources feeling positive at this point... Stay tuned

Roller coaster going up again.
