Anyone RELIEVED that we acquired Brunner when we did?

He and Ryder may be the "Diamonds in the Rough" that the Devils need on offense going forward....

But I guess Shootouts are a different story.....

Oh and please somebody tell Scott Stevens to body-check Pete through a wall for his personnel decision to ONCE AGAIN *NOT* play Mark Fayne....

Thanks.

And Harrold isn't the one who should sit anymore. It's that Russian pylon who makes terrible pinches.

Still, our biggest problem is wide open breakdowns in the NZ that lead to breakaways.

Shots against, are skewed when 60% of them are breakaways.

Marty just can't be letting in these softies anymore. If Marty plays like this on Monday, we can't possibly go back to him in Calgary. Dumbeor probably will though.

Go with Cory vs EDM and VAN.

He knows those two teams way better than Marty ( obviously )

could be a edge.

If Marty ***** the bed again against Edmonton, we need to go with Cory in Vancouver and probably at least the next two games after that. Then we can give Marty another go of it.

As mediocre as Cory was last night, he wasn't giving up the type of softies that Marty gave up tonight.

This is why I would have preferred Marty in Pittsburgh over this game. I figured we'd lose to Pittsburgh no matter who was in net. I had a bad feeling Marty's October softy would cost us the game tonight and IMO it did.

I advocated for Jagr because I didn't want Brunner here on a long deal. Boy I'm glad we have this kid now, Jagr looks BAD.

being from vancouver, cory playing in van against his old team and friend luongo will be the headlines... plus.. it just makes more sense to play him

Last night we lost cause we couldn't score. Tonight we lost cause of bad goaltending. I hate to crap on Marty, but he needs to be better. If he can't find his groove soon, it's time to turn it over to Schneider.

Schneider just came off a craptastic game as well, people calling for Marty to retire already?

Guys, relax, it's 2 games. I saw lots of positives today.

The offense will be very solid especially once Jagr gets going and Zajac and Henrique start potting a few. The defense is going to be a massive issue all year long because of the slow turds and the questionable lineup decisions. Sooner or later, Pete needs to swallow his pride regarding Fayne and play him and NOT take him out after 1 bad effort. Its at the point where Volchenkov is costing us games and that is totally unacceptable.

Give him credit too. He made some big saves to make sure it went to OT

He did have that save later and showed tremendous athleticism that no other goalie other than Hasek could probably ever do.

He let in two softies tonight though. He can't keep letting those in or it's time we go to Cory.
