19 games left, 1 point out of a playoff spot with two of the top 5 goalies in the league..Kings are going to be fine. All they need to do is get in.

Well, he's not wrong. If the puck bounces off Carter's stick into the net it's a different game. 77 is not going to miss many of those.

That's right. We have a lot of talent, it's just a question if they'll perform. If we didn't have the talent it would be more depressing. We're close.

I guess our dominance in 3 on 3 wasn't sustainable, back to back 3 on 3 loses...

So was Kempe injured or just a healthy scratch? I wouldn't mind seeing McNabb sit in favor of LaDue/Gravel. The young Dmen have shown some great promise coming up from the AHL. Sure there's some hickups here and there but they've played well.

Healthy scratch. I would have preferred his speed on the 1st line. But maybe there is a trade brewing and they didn't want to risk injury.

Kopitar, Kempe, McBadd for Duchene and Landeskog.

Kopitar gets his wish for new wingers...in Colorado.

Maybe Kopitar has something serious going on in his personal life? I hope not, but this season is so crazy bad for him I can't come up with any other explanation.

It's certainly possible. Personal issues can absolutely drain you and kill the energy/concentration you need to do your job effectively.

I wonder the same thing about Muzzin. How else could he be this bad? He looks like he's skating in mud out there.

Kopitar won't score a goal until the team is eliminated from contention. Then he'll start potting them left and right. Watch.

Carter missed an absolute lay-up of a pass from Martinez in OT. How many of you would be complaining about Kopitar if Carter had hit the net? I don't see anyone blaming Carter, but a crap-ton of posts blaming bagging on Kopitar.

Kopitar had a strong game, was assertive, had the puck on his stick a ton, and shot the puck every chance he had. He created the chance that led to Pearson's goal and had a primary assist. The OT goal was not his fault.

It's gotten to the point where some of us posters are looking for a scapegoat for the whole season and can't get past one guy, even if he had a good game. Save it for a game where Kopitar sucks. There have been plenty this year and there might be a few more.

He has six ****ing goals and is earning $14M this season. Are you serious with this crap? Of course people are going to complain about him if he doesn't help the team win games. He has not performed up to his standards. You'd have to be blind or brain dead to ignore the fact that his lackadaisical play all season long has hurt the team immensely.

Carter has 30 goals and has carried the Kings offense all season. I think he gets a pass on the occasional miss. Kopitar is the highest paid player in the league and he's scoring like a 3rd line center. That is not good enough. If you cannot be allowed to critique the teams captain (considering how much everyone liked to bash Brown for his subpar play) for his ****** play I don't know what to tell you. He's been a wreck this season, and I for one will call him out on it. If it's because he was hurt he should've been shut down for the season.

I get the frustration on Kopi. As he goes, so go the Kings.

I still think something has yet to be revealed about him.

I'm waiting to see if he needs surgery after the year or not.

I could care less how much his actual salary is. It's the cap space that hurts.

He's in a true funk. Not sure if he will snap out of it this season.

He is still a major asset to this team. Even Carter's success hinges on the match ups made available playing behind Kopi.

I'm talking about one game. Watch the game again and tell me if you didn't think Kopitar contributed to the Kings even getting a point. Like I said, save the complaints for a game he actually sucked in, because right now it sounds like a broken record. I'm not sure what your expectations are for Kopitar at this point.

Fun fact: Vinny Lecavalier scored more goals with the Kings last season than Kopitar has this season.

A player on the verge of retirement scored more than the team captain, who also happens to be one of the highest paid players in the NHL.

You can tell he's truly upset, that's what makes the whole thing so sad on top of being so frustrating. I will never question his caring.

Kings should of taken note of what the Panthers did in naming Derek MacKenzie captain, by naming Trevor Lewis captain. Take the pressure off all your star players, let them focus on what they need to do on the ice.

Thought Kopitar was much better last night.

As for 3v3...how do the Kings usually wind up winning all of the time on rushes and whatnot? **** happens with that much ice out there. What happened in the Wild game is unacceptable but last night is just a **** happens moment. It's just magnified and upsetting due to the standings and the opponent.
