I just said that our overall outlook is pretty good.

Anything that isn't gushing *********ion over the Rangers gets attacked on here.

The team has a way to go, but it’s fun watching this team now. Dangerous PP, Legit 1C, new additions in Panarin and Trouba who look as advertised, and potentials for guys like Kakko and Fox. So a lot to root for, I am excited but also cautiously optimistic. The D is still an issue and hopefully it progresses this season.

I dont get how Buch gets pulled into that. He's a decent player/good passer. He's weak down low and never shoots. Kakko can do everything he does and then some. People equating Kakko > Buch as Buch sucks, I dont get it. I dont think he's the best option. It doesn't mean he cant produce or wont.

It's similar to saying Names was a first liner when he was with TBs top line

This is by design. DQ's vote of confidence before anyone has stepped the ice that it's going to be PB on the 1st line with 93-10? Unlike DQ who preaches merit on a young team. Management wants to trade Buchnevich at the draft or the deadline for picks. Buch on a cheap 2 year deal that expires with RFA control is nice. Tatar managed to net a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd even if it was a bad trader in McPhee.

We have all this offense on the right side and now we just need some defense on the left. That's good because elite defense is still easier to find and cheaper than elite offense at every position. That's why they spent on Trouba.

And I wouldn't even worry about "balance." Your pairs are actually way more flexible if one side is defense and one side is offense.
