Forget the return of the players. They come and go.

I'm just happy that Sam's back. I'm still detoxing from that freak show on TNT last night. And I'm a fan of Kenny Albert's play-by-play and Keith Jones' analysis is typically astute and humorous. The rest was just horrible. Gong show stuff. Too much of nothing.
yeah TNT panel was a mess last night. But i'll be watching the Dallas feed tonight if i can find it. I can't suffer Sam and Joe anymore lol

I loved it personally, nice to see a looser presentation.

By the way, Dallas used to have one of the best uniforms. Now they have one of the worst. Expect those green neon thirds. Those are lit -- quite literally. No chance we see them tonight though. Thirds don't appear at the start of the season.

I guess it must have some appeal.

It's a bit troubling that Gretzky makes hockey less exciting though. They may want to rethink that split screen with Gretzky opining, like the most boring economics prof anyone's ever heard, while there's an exciting game being played out on the main camera.

What you saw was exciting? lol

That's fair, Gretzky was probably my least favorite part of the panel.

The fans in the arena seemed to enjoy it. They should have had Gretzky on the arena's screen. For me the Gretzky thing was like pouring salt on fresh wounds. Just so bad.

It was worse than Milbury.

I'm just playing. I get what you're saying. I think if they showed Gretzky on the jumbotron, there would've been a collective gasp at his bad dye job.

Well this can’t be worse than yesterday
Practically, no, at least not imaginable considering the talent on the team. But theoretically, absolutely yes. But I do get your point and yes, if this can get worse this franchise is in deep trouble soon. I don't think it will be but this team has some big issues to solve before they can reach the playoffs.

I described those neon green jerseys as "the players look like they're part of the staff for a dubstep rave party." I'm of the opposite opinion of you. A ridiculous color choice IMO. At least they can see eachother if there's a blackout during a game, so that's a plus, their jerseys might even be a source of light for other people. From a safety standpoint their jerseys are excellent.

They spent 95% of the broadcast sucking up to and being starstruck by Gretzky and he was clearly extremely uncomfortable by it and it was uncomfortable to watch.

Bissonette- 'yeah we love going to the movies don't we Gretz?'
Gretz- 'the movies are okay sometimes.'
Bissonette- 'yeah the movies are okay sometimes yeah.'

Carter - 'we love chocolate cake huh gretz?'
Gretz - 'i prefer red velvet'
Carter - 'yeah red velvet is the best, official cake of TNT'

Shit like that all f***ing night. They need to figure out how to incoporate gretz into just being one of the guys instead of some godlike creature.

Same. I like having more analysts at the desk. Anything is better than that snoozefest NBC had during intermissions. I think Gretzky is going to be really good for them. The Barkley in goal part was a little too much but the rest was promising.

That caps game completely ruined my mood about this team and this season. I know it’s an overreaction but I cant stand seeing a team focusing on hitting rather than playing hockey. Pinned in our zone, no chemistry, couldn’t compete a f***ing pass if their life depended on it, aimlessly drifting around, terrible decisions by The defense, and to top it off- a sieve in net who can’t stop a beachball. I give them 20 games to see who they are.
There are 81 more games.

Those jerseys would've been perfect at the, uh, Jersey blackout last week during Isles-Devs.

I think tonight we will see a much different club.

Im going with a 5-2 Rangers win.

Zibanejad line with a big night.
Maybe one from Goodrow too.

Well, I'm going to have a few Heiskanens to get a good buzz going and make it fun whether it's a different club or the same one as last night.
