This game is going to be UGLY.

Leafs are powerhouse in the East this year, going on full confidence from their blowout win, and the fans are going to be absolutely NUTS for their home opener.

Obviously I hope i'm wrong, but this has blowout written all over.

I've known about it since it was introduced. It didn't work all the times I tried it previously. But I just tried it, and it worked.
Must be you! Going to try it with the game tonight just to confirm that it works. If it does, I can get around NHL Network blackouts on NHL TV. Now the question is, does MSG GO do Chromecast? I don't see the Chromecast button.

They might have mentioned it during the telecasts previously and it didn't register. Or it was introduced last year when I didn't need it.

Also, Rangers weren't available on it until tail end of last season. It was only Knicks games at the beginning.

The Rangers aren't the Jets.

As a Leaf fan I am nervous about tonight, This is the home opener and that means the team is holding a a pre game ceremony tonight and I noticed over my years watching hockey that when a team has a pre game ceremony a lot of times that team comes out flat, don't know why that is but it seems to happen.

I think we are in for a high scoring game tonight

Please no

Hank is looking his age in net.

A lot of really good HOF caliber goalies like

Brodeur
Luongo
Belfour
Hasek

didn't really start to noticeably decline until age 37-38, so I'm not giving up on Hank yet. Let's see how he does over the full season.

Roy retired still at top quality at age 36, so its tough to know how he would've aged, but I've seen no indication of the theory that butterfly goalies have shorter lifespans than stand-ups. Luongo is the best comparable to Henrik in the league and he is still useful at 38.

It’s weird the Rangers do the same thing.. every time there’s a ceremony at MSG they aren’t ready to play.

Is there a confirmed puck drop time? I can only take 1 cheese team/player intro lol

I think part of the reason why we made all these moves the past couple years is because hank is getting older. If the defense can be what we all think it is. And the forwards progress in their development(mainly vesey buch hayes and Kreider) hank doesn’t have to be a top 5 goalie.

The only time I will truly care about Hank performances this year is in the playoffs. If he can put together 16 wins and be a difference maker.

I'd say the ceremony is going to take about 20 minutes

Here's to Kreider and Miller putting a dent or two into the Leafs tonight. Hayes is welcome to join in as well. I think they can.
The euphoria in LeafsLand can get a bit much. It would be nice to ratchet it down a couple of notches in their barn, but its the 2 points that ultimately matters the most, just would be sweet to do it in their home opener.

I have never looked at Lundys "decline" as physical. He always used to have 1 bad month a season that looked like this. I feel if he could get his mind set and technique back to where it was in the past his age would not be a issue.

The Leafs today?

Zucc's gonna be up for this game.

I doubt it - he is always a slow starter just like Stepan & Henrik. I would not set my money on it at least in the first goal of the game bet, but who knows - it`s hard to speculate the future! ;)

Doesn't he have a big streak going against Toronto? He always plays well against them.
