Digiuseppe for all the crap he gets fits well in this line-up just for the simple fact that he knows he has to retrieve pucks and just get to the net. He keeps it simple but he’s an effective support guy in this lineup

how much ice did Miller get? didn't seem like a lot but he either stood out in a good way or not at all...which is pretty good

Liking Trouba and Lindgren so far. Think Hajek is wearing a Fox skin suit, can't fool me.

Panarin came to play. Along with several others. Georgiev best player IMO

Yeah Georgiev just quietly made steady saves. Didn't have to be spectacular a lot, though he made some big saves, but mostly just being solid and stopping the puck

Smith with just a HUGE play saved a goal really.

I thought kakko was the worst player on the ice not named Ryan Strome. He just continues to turn pucks over and lose battles. I think he looks faster bigger stronger but the head is not catching up to the body right now. Looked way better in the bubble so perhaps just needs to get going.

lafreniere just you know he’s a great player.

back to strome. He looks absolutely awful

great period by Georgie

KAndre Miller looks like a different guy from Thursday tremendous change. Looks great.

fox has the ability to bring the game to like a crawl when he has the puck on his stick people just watch him do whatever he wants. It’s pretty amazing. However he is no where near as dangerous on that PP is Tony is.

that was a really good period good sign for Quinn

I just noticed him on that one breakout where he side stepped right and got the puck to Chytil I think

I suspect that lineup will change but Quinn is "sending a message" about effort and putting grinders on the second PP

Pretty good period, obviously much better than we saw before. not a ton to complain about other than I want to see that third line get more icetime
the 2nd PP is obviously set up around Trouba cranking point shots, Kakko doesn't help that. the grinders do. lots of wing options, nothing wrong with making him earn it, frankly he needs to earn it.

Missed the first period. Seems like Georgiev bailed us out for the first 7 minutes but we started playing better?

Smith has been extremely solid. Pretty obvious he needs to play regularly.

The gaps they're giving some of the Islander forwards are absurd.

Someone plant an islander into the third row please.
with no Ruff it's a new defensive system, no?

id imagine they can collapse in the D zone kind of by default but transition D is gonna take a while to get right

Kakko was fine. His line was always in The offensive zone. Baby steps, baby steps...
