Every time the puck lands on Laf’s stick it’s instant excitement. Just a matter of time before those points stack up.

I suspect that lineup will change but Quinn is "sending a message" about effort and putting grinders on the second PP

Pretty good period, obviously much better than we saw before. not a ton to complain about other than I want to see that third line get more icetime
That third line was strong. Chytil and kakko look much better now than they did last year. pdg looks like pdg.

The gaps they're giving some of the Islander forwards are absurd.

Someone plant an islander into the third row please.

Yeah D is still giving up way too much when the other team rushes but again I bet a lot of that is the forwards not support back very well

and then the Rangers over pursue on the backcheck and all end up below the hashmarks for easy point shots by the other team

Zibanejad is so underrated defensively...

he can play D like a dman when he fills in for someone pinching and forwards can’t do shit against him one on one..

Best two-way forward not named Bergeron. Yes better than Kopitar and Towes because Ziba has the wheels and he is literally a buzz saw in all 3 zones with his skating and positioning.

If the end result of this opening fiasco is Smith finds a permanent spot on the roster then I'm content with that.

His reading of the ice is really great which is what makes him a threat to PK and effective forecheckier, puck pursuer, etc. He reads the play and jumps passes and lanes so well
