Best two-way forward not named Bergeron. Yes better than Kopitar and Towes because Ziba has the wheels and he is literally a buzz saw in all 3 zones with his skating and positioning.

Not gonna argue semantics on who’s better but Zibanejad is in this top group and he’s often overlooked and underestimated when this level players are being discussed.

Don’t @ me but I’d be intrigued by a long term look of Panarin-Strome-Gauthier. Like 5 games.

Also, did anyone else sense some sort of chemistry shown between Lafreniere-Howden-Lemieux on the PP

Gauthier isn’t going to be here long IMO

by the way I really liked Rooney’s game before he got hurt. This team needs some grind it out players you can trust. I wouldn’t be surprised to see gauthier sitting and DiGi and Rooney both in the lineup regularly

If you've been reading this board for the past 2 days, head over to the Isles GDT for a nice pallet cleanser.

It might happen. The Islanders have goals in their sticks. But he's not just gonna open the game up. He's literally never done that.

True but he's very methodical and usually ends up on the right side of things.
Very smart coach and DQ needs to keep that in mind and maybe bring a different look the next period to counter that and maybe confuse things a bit, if that makes sense?

It's probably more random chance than chemistry but they had appropriate spacing with each other and that's half the positioning battle. If they all know Lemieux is gonna chase the puck like a frisbee they can probably make that work.

Looks like Miller got his nerves and jitters under control midway through the first game. Don’t want to jinx him by saying more so soon.

Not going down 1 early is the difference, Igor is the goat but Georgie is a stud

Smith with just a HUGE play saved a goal really.

I thought kakko was the worst player on the ice not named Ryan Strome. He just continues to turn pucks over and lose battles. I think he looks faster bigger stronger but the head is not catching up to the body right now. Looked way better in the bubble so perhaps just needs to get going.

lafreniere just you know he’s a great player.

back to strome. He looks absolutely awful

great period by Georgie

KAndre Miller looks like a different guy from Thursday tremendous change. Looks great.

fox has the ability to bring the game to like a crawl when he has the puck on his stick people just watch him do whatever he wants. It’s pretty amazing. However he is no where near as dangerous on that PP is Tony is.

that was a really good period good sign for Quinn
Kakko looked very good. Miller looked like the worst. He made one great player with the puck behind the net. Still looks extremely nervous.

Wonder how differently the first game would have went if Igor didn't allow that quick 1st goal. That and 2nd quickie took the wind out of their sails big time

Wonder if Igor wouldn't have given up those early goals if he wasn't facing down 2-on-1s and breakaways immedaitely following puckdrop lol They played horribly in front of him

Feel like Gauthier hasn’t been here long enough to make any decisions on him

If anyone in this group should be considered to sit then please include Lemieux.
