Guys don't be surprised if we here some of the guys have flu or whatever. Because usually when on person gets it in the lock room. That crap spreads fast. It could take a week for everything to clear

I feel like the team needs to stop putting young players with fowler…. So the Fowler fans won’t have that sorry cop out that he’s “baby sitting” when it’s usually the young player baby sitting him

Get luneau as far away from fowler as possible

We won game 1. We were tied in game 2 for two periods, the second game of the back-to-back while flying to the second destination. Riemer has calmed all of our nerves. Over two games, our PK went 6/7 (85.7% PK eff) and we got a shutout.

We get to rest up for Utah. Maybe that flu thing will clear up by then.

Still not happy with our PP and offense, though. It's a small sample, but maybe lines need to be juggled and schemes need to change.

Assuming this is true (I'm not sure that it is) is it really the fault of coaches that professional players are failing at the basics? That seems like it should be on the players.

That's like a Math PhD student messing up their basic algebra.
Coaches are in charge of running fundamentals and addressing problem areas.

Cronin sends a message to Leason, that although he’s been good. It’s unacceptable to not clear a puck on the pk when you have full control a few feet from the blue line. Big boss Ross Johnston gets Inserted into the lineup next game, since Utah has a couple of Goones on the squad. Ross fights o Brien, fires us up. We finally get some goal scoring while dostal looks good again. 4-1 ducks next game ( also think Killorn gets taken off the top line)

Torts stated that they have to teach Drysdale how to play hockey.

Most of that is pre-Cronin, but it does speak to the ineptness of our organization.

Rough game from Luneau….made the obvious gaf on the third goal and was in no man’s land covering no one on the first goal.
The forwards were really out of sync on odd man rushes. Numerous opportunities were wasted because of poor passing and hesitation with the puck.

It feels like some good things need to happen. Then everyone can loosen up a bit and make more confident plays. The amount of times I’ve seen guys slamming their sticks and outwardly show their frustration when we’re only 2 games in is a little concerning, and also a reminder that these guys are still young and new to this league.

It’s hard to be patient but that’s what is required with the teams current state.

Yes, Anaheim are famous for being terrible at developing defencemen compared to Philadelphia.

Torts has to teach Drysdale how to play "zone" defense. Eakins and Cronin have been coaching "man" defense. Therein lies the lost context. Then tack on the fact Drysdale missed all of the 2022-23 season and then injured for some time again last year before being traded. Can't teach how to play when you're not on the ice.

Just seems like Cronin and pv are pushing defense first… which is fine but it seems like they are also killing the players offensive/creativity

We seen it with zegras, wouldn’t be shocked if the team pushes zellweger/Mintyukov to make the safe play until they earn the trust to make the creative play.
