Zucc has looked disinterested for going on 2 years now. He desperately needs a change of scenery. Looks heartbroken.

Guy can’t even answer a simple question like what’s your favorite food without a depressing existential answer about not liking food. Go away your fire is out.
I think Zuccha is totally aware of articles in Norwegian newspapers about how the RANGERS and QUINNIE disrespecting him by not visiting and taking for granted his contributions over the years with "hometown discounts" and now looking to move him. Sad.....I can see how he may be hurt.

Assuming we are talking about Chytil, I agree. He has playmaking hands but I do not see him being an NHL responsible center. he should play wing and simply use those hands as a playmaking asset. If he does this right he can become a Patrick Kane light.

Ironically, I think Andersson is going to become what Johnathan Toews is today

Man, I just am not seeing what many of you guys are, maybe I need to look harder. I even neglected to add him into my glut of centers we have. Goes to show me, i just havent seen it. Theres time, and not saying he isnt capable, just not seeing him becoming an outstanding player. Would gladly eat some crow.

The Toews of today is basically a mid 50 point player. He's had a hot start, but he'll probably end up 50-60 this year.

He's not going to get to show much playing with McLeod and Letteiri

I think he definitely needs time to settle in at the NHL level but if that's going to be on the 4th line then we're not going to see much from him.

I don't know why they're even bothering with Lettieri at this point either dude just isn't a good NHLer. Sorry Vinny if you're reading this.

Toews has been a 60-65 point center for his entire career. Put up 70+ only once. He's had Patrick kane to play with for his entire career. Andersson has the IQ and the motor to do what Toews did.

Chytil + Andersson can become our version of Kane and Toews. Perhaps not as elite, but that is what I see. We forget how young these guys are. Andersson JUST turned 20 last month. Chytil JUST turned 19 2 months ago, Howden has to wait 4 more months just to hit legal US drinking age... These guys are YOUNG, and unless you are an elite like McDavid or Crosby, you don't light the world on fire at 20 and under...

We have time, the potential is there. Chytil HAS that game breaking ability.

Kravstov is going to be a monster as well

Out of curiosity, why did Henrik get the loss last night? I thought the rule was, whichever goalie is on the ice for the GWG gets the decision, and that was Georgiev, no?

(not saying that Henrik doesn't "deserve" the loss, was just looking for clarification on the rule)

Prime Zucc would have fit in just fine. This current edition is is a UFA mistake thats already happened before its happened.
I do not think that the mental effects of knowing that you are likely playing your last games with a team can be underestimated. The writing on the wall for him being traded is there.

I want the kids to show growth, I want Zibanejad and Kreider to show they’re worth keeping long term and I want any of the tradable vets to maximize their trade value. If that produces wins from time to time, so be it.
Exactly. As far as I am concerned those are the most important things.

I'd agree if the issues with his game weren't there for all of last year (pre letter) too.

Guys decline, it happens to everyone.

At the time of injury, he had 10 points in 15 games. That is not at all a bad number. That averages out to what he has basically been his last two years. He is a second line player.

Say what you want about Christie, but the traffic I saw yesterday was NOTHING compared to what I had seen in the last several years, and this was only for a few inches of snow.

Port Authority bus terminal just "closed up shop" at 515 because of the craziness. Roads were trash everywhere. I'm ****ing tired of this ****.

I noticed Valiquette couldn't even make it to the Studio until the 2nd period intermission--that is also craziness. How does MSG not plan for this?

he's trying too hard because he too has been thrust into a role that is over his head--actually, I'd argue that AV sort of ruined him by giving him cushy minutes last year, so it's going to take some time for Skjei to kind of break out "again"... He makes a lot of high risk plays because in AV's system that was what was required to be done by defensemen--stretch passes, no skating with the puck, get rid of the puck ASAP to your partner/a streaking forward
Yeah and he blamed the weather forecasters for it, while he was too busy partying in Atlantic City. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

2 little tidbits. Anyone remember the exchanges involving Howden and Barzal at 7:08 left in 3rd? Veteran move to hold Barzal's stick in dzone, then shortly after went after Barzal aggressively that got us a call. This kid is already a pro and I guess "shocked" that Tampa would part with him.

Also, Pionk really was relentless in getting into the zone, getting Kreider that shot to make it 4-6. Wasnt exactly a spin-o-rama and length of ice play, nevertheless yet another good play by the kid.

So many here, critique him for his defensive or "bone headed" play at times....what everyone is forgetting is how young he is.......and where he came from, and how lucky we were in getting him. His offense is really good, and the defense side, hopefully will improve. What else can we ask for in this reclaimation project we are going through?

f***ing ass bag. NJ is becoming a very bad place to live. it's a hell that has to be endured because of it's location, it really sucks. You're only safety net is to live in a town with a solid local government so that you don't have to state forcing their hand on you constantly.

Anyways back to rangers talk, I would bet that tickets to last nights game were DIRTTT cheap. Should have grabbed a set honeslt.y

he's going to be a good player. DeAngelo too. it's very hard to get this "Pionk vs ADA" debate out of peoples heads, but it doesn't need to happen. Both of them are 2nd pairing guys with #2 dman potential. We're lucky to have both

Not disagreeing, as I had higher hopes for him (with every reason) as he impressed last year and in camp. Again, the same reasoning about LA's point, can be made for him.

Sometimes, I just wish that he would get a chance to play with Zbad and Kreider for say 5 games. See what happens. Get some PP time (yeah, i know he had some, but little).
Give him time there, like they gave Spooner a couple games. I realize injuries gave Spooner that 1st line duty, but you know what i mean. Probably just needs some points, which would give him much needed confidence boost. Working hard on 4th line, only gets you so far. But yeah, all in all he hasnt been very good.

Problem with Lettieri for me is that he just looks like a good AHL player that can't do the same things at the NHL level. His positioning isn't great/instinctive like it needs to be for a guy who wants to be a shooter, he works hard but isn't particularly good along the boards or at winning battles, he tries but it just doesn't come together like it does at the AHL level. Sure not playing with McLeod would help but while I could watch Chytil and to some extent Andersson (though I haven't seen a ton of his game since the callup) and see them consistently flash or do good things, I don't see that much from Lettieri

Fair enough. I do not disagree that he needs to be traded.
Lets be clear and "fair" here. Please lets NOT discount everything Zuccha has done for this team. He has been a natural leader, plays with his heart, bleeds Rangers blue. He has led this team in scoring multiple times, nearly killed with a shot and has always risen to the top in all situations as a "true Ranger".
He is NOT a bad player now, by no means. Just seems that his heart is being ripped out of his body "because of" that writing on the wall and is probably wishing he had the same contract that Marc, Hank and Dan were given in terms of nmc's and all that.......instead he chose to take a hometown discount (twice in fact, 1st was appreciation for opportunity, 2nd was probably "team oriented") because of WHAT this team had offered him, and given him............a much better life then he could ever have dreamed of. And now, he probably feels heartless.

Totally agree, and don't prefer ONE over the other. They bring lots of the same.....talent. One is a little more heady and seems to make the right offensive plays in the ozone than the other, and one is a better offensive defenseman from in his own zone.
Both play somewhat "iffy" defense, yet aggressive, physical and "chancey" sometimes.
Doesn't matter which is which, and who is whom but we have them both and technically "Shatty" should be looked at as the "extra" commodity, and needs to be moved, and if he were.....there would be LESS comparisons and preferences between Pionk and ADA.

I think the reason that people see it as 44 vs 77 is the ice time that Pionk is getting over ADA who clearly to me is the more skilled player on both sides of the puck. Pionk is like the Roman Reigns of this team just keeps getting shoved down our throats when there’s a more talented guy that should be getting the push (yes I used wrestling there)

Almost feels like with their size and abilities that it’s eventually going to come down to moving one and keeping the other.

Oh wtf is this shit.

If he was half the leader you claim he is the trade rumors wouldn't bother him at all. I get it, hes human, but that is NOT a quality that I want in a leader. Its not really a slight on him, not all people are meant to lead.

He can want a contract and security like Marc, Dan and Hank but the truth of the matter is, 2 of those deals were unmitigated disasters. He shouldn't be offended or hurt by management learning from their mistakes. I don't think his play this year (and most of last year, not the TDL stretch where he basically mailed it in) has anything to do with feeling unappreciated - hes declining.

No one is disputing what he has done. The discussion has only been as it pertains to this year. Though I would not say that he has been the leader. Yes, he is a part of the core and a lieutenant, but not the leader.

He is not bad, he can still produce, but he is dragging out there. I agree that part of that is the "heart being ripped out of his body". And I am not sure that he took such a hometown discount. He is a second line player. He was making $4.5 per. That is not an insignificant amount. I am sure that his choice would be to stay, but the best thing for this franchise is to turn him into more assets.

It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business.
