I think most hockey fans mean harmless intent. It's just short-handed nicknames for the team that's more natural than the 'Rangs'. Rival fans do seem to cling onto it because some Rangers fans get really worked up over it. For me, it's been a non-issue since day 1 personally.

Usually an entertaining game against the Hawks. Hoping for another, and a Rangers win of course. This has been quite a layoff but I think they will pick it up where they left off. Maybe a little rust? The gap between games should help some players, thinking of McDonagh especially.

Get over it man. I don't like it either but 99% of the time it's used as shorthand for Rangers without knowing the "on the rag" reference. The vast majority of people think that it's the equivalent of using "Pens" instead of "Penguins".
