That was a sneaky good save by Fedotov with his shoulder looked like on a rising wrister. Hasn’t looked bad since the softie.

The Flyers are 28th in xGF/60 on the PP this year. That’s with Michkov now. They’re 32nd in CF/60.

Just in case people got their hopes up about Rocky because of a few early goals and preseason. Same old same old.
Whatever, man. He deserves an extension.

It doesn't help that they regularly only have 90 seconds of powerplay time before they actually have possession in the offensive zone due to losing so many faceoffs.

They rarely get set before the first minute is up.

Eh, they’re 7th worst in 5v4 FO%. Florida is 3rd worst, Montreal 6th, Carolina 8th, Nashville 9th, Colorado 11th, Tampa 12th — and all those teams are ~top 10 in 5v4 GF/60. It’s been inversely correlative, if anything.

I’d say it has a lot more to do with how bad they are at entries, cross seam passes, Tippett, Drysdale, etc. Their 2nd unit is almost purposefully designed to be their 5 worst skaters. FOs let them off the hook.

Zone entries become less of an issue if the puck stays in the zone.

It's a series of problem that stack: lose the faceoff, three attempts to get back in the zone, finally set up possession and Tippett immediately shoots into the goalie's belly or misses the net and the puck leaves the zone again...

A minute and a half to get out of the zone to start the second. Entirely unsurprising given the first period.

Exit only possible due to a smart play by Andrae, who continues to impress.
