And yet 95 percent of players in the NHL were drafted at some point.

So you have to start somewhere.

Also disagree on the diamonds in the rough things. I think the Rangers have done well in that department, it’s finding the superstars they’ve struggled with. Though I don’t know if they’ve been in too many positions to find them the last 13 years or so.

The Rangers make or break will be their ability to find top end talent in the coming years. They’ve already got the potential support core in place.

Diamonds in the rough was referring to high end talent not taken at the top of the draft. Plenty of examples. Of course, other teams passed on the same players., but my point still stands.

They have got to stop and try to force the carry in to the zone. Seen that a few times now and they fail to get the puck deep.

If the happens during the d-pair change we’ll see an odd man rush.

Try to skate through players at the blue line and the play turns the other way. This is what Quinn refers to as play the situation.

If we could make 2 or 3 passes out of our zone,we could catch them for an odd man rush.Their d men pinch like crazy.

Claesson has flown under the radar on here a bit, but he has legitimately been one of our best defensemen so far in the games he's played.

Skjei had a horrible start, Pionk has been up and down (more one way or the other depending who you ask), Staal's been better but not great, and Shatty's been up and down; meanwhile Claesson quietly does an excellent job as a defensive defensemen each game.

The other point being, the Rangers have already said that this is the path they are going down. And while the draft will not be the only method, it’s going to be a major part, and already has been.
