Brendan Smith and Vinni Lettieri will both be up in the Quinn Bin tonight. So McLeod and the return of Freddy Claesson?

I'm glad I'm having company over for the game tonight so I won't be checking Twitter for all the tweets about how the Rangers gave up on Anthony Duclair back in 2015 and didn't sign him this offseason after he scores a hatty tonight. LET IT GO!

FWIW, Jackets are pumping in at -200 tonight. Yikes.

Gut feeling Henrik asks Quinn for the ball tonight.

Fearing a 3-1/4-1 L result. How about 72 gets a pair past Bobrovsky tonight? Let’s go...

How Quinn was tabbed as the youth development guy is starting to become a mystery to me. By Youth, I'm sure they don't mean 23-28 year olds. He has zero comfort with Andersson and Chytil and has to struggle to decide if he wants to ice what is the best winning lineup in his mind or if he wants to give the rookies minutes. Unless it's Howden playing a grinding 200 feet game, he hasn't done anything that encourages the development of players that we haven't already seen. Skilled players like Chytil and soon Kravstov will take a backseat to Andersson and Howden playing the forecheck grinding game.

Quinn is known for being good at development-here’s my guess and why I’m not as mad as some on Chytil playing 4th line

Quinn knows Chytil has tons of potential offensively (evident by playing him on the PP occasionally) but Chytil has been lacking defensively and physically, he’s likely playing him on a grinder line to improve his all around game. Also, playing with scrubs like McLeod and Lettieri can improve his hockey IQ (imo only.) I think he’s trying to ease Chytil into playing with top 6ers by letting him learn from playing with 4th liners. Chytil has to do more on his own by playing with these guys and thus makes him maybe less reliant on his teammates in the future? If Chytil was gifted a top 9 role maybe he’d be too reliant on his better line mates. It’s hard to say exactly what I’m trying to say but I do believe playing with McLeod/Lettieri can possibly improve IQ. I don’t mind this that much for now but if this continues post-TDL I’d have a problem. Howden is already more developed/older than Chytil so maybe that’s why he gets a longer leash. Chytil’s situation is the same with Buch, Quinn knows he’s good as well but is trying to develop them “properly” and work on their all around game. Just my guess though

That wings player had complete control of the puck when entering the zone though even if he went over before the puck did.

Since we’re still looking at offsides from last night, I’ll mention Brock Boeser will be out Monday night at MSG.

I really want to beat Tortorella tonight. Chytil with 2, lets go...
