I don't know what to say either anymore. He looks as average as average can be. I would love to say it's the system that is holding him back but he really shows zero separation.

I have been trying to figure out what player he currently resembles and I can only come up with Jimmy Vesey at this stage.

laf has no confidence
I wonder why, he’s out there with f***ing Bitetto and Smith getting mop up duty on PP2.

His line mates getting a ton of special teams time between PK and PP so he keeps missing 5v5 shifts or he’s out there with Buttlitski and Howden.

It’s honestly like Quinn is trying to set him up to fail sometimes, that’s how bad some of his decisions with him are. Quinn can say “oh I had him on the first line and PP time tonight” and think he’s doing well but his PP time is trash bc of the minutes and even more so the line mates and he’s not getting a lot of even time. It’s like the logic is there and sounds good but just open your eyes and you see something isn’t right in his usage.

It shouldn’t be too much to ask for Lafreniere to get more of a chance when THREE other top 9 forwards are missing. He shouldn’t be getting comparable usage to Lemieux and PDG.

Man I really hope Kravtsov pans out. I'm on the record as not being optimistic at his chances to be a real impact player. Looking at the progress of some of those guys behind him, Farabee obviously, it gives you that nauseated feeling.

Fortunately he hasn't even played here yet and has plenty of time to make me eat my words.

The only thing worse than seeing Farabee break out, is if Whalstrom broke out.

Apologies for just dropping in to ask questions that have most likely been asked 700 times already, but WHY is Blackwell on the PP? Why has Smith spent for than 0 seconds on the point? I feel like I'm losing my mind.
Oh it's because Quinn is a bad coach and doesn't know what he's doing

When they wrote that letter and burned it all down in Spring of 18, I understood the AHLers scattered all over the lineup and did not mind it. We are three years into the future and there are similar scrubs scattered all over the ice. Disgusting. And that's after what? 3 top-10 picks, two being top-2 NHL ready prospects? This is a joke.

Rebuilds don't automatically mean exposing every single prospect to the NHL too early. We have plenty of depth overseas or in Juniors.

Laf is f***in invisible. What the f***. Best prospect since McDavid?! Jesus what a complete shit start to his career.

Any chances he's had have been created by other players. He doesn't create anything himself or have any flashes of brilliance. Almost 20 games in and he's on board to have the worst 1OA season ever.

Nobody thought he'd start his career like this.

i see a total lack of confidence. you see flashes. you see what he can do. the first game you saw him speeding around. I don’t think he trusts the coaching staff.

I think horrible is a bit harsh, he's had a couple decent shifts. But he still is gliding way too much, especially when it comes to making himself available in the offensive zone. Too slow and doesn't give his teammates an option.
Isn't that a system issue? These rookies are indicative of this. The vets at least know through experience but this coach sucks. First kakko now laf on his first year.

Doc: “Kreider with a little salsa in front of the net to clear some room”
Pierre: “Doc, when Kreider was seven years old he actually took some salsa classes. You know who else was there? Sidney Crosby’s aunt’s second cousin’s sister in law. Not bad company to be in.”
Doc: “Illuminating as always Pierre.”
This is accurate and that's scary

I know the defence tonight is non existent but man this is like watching 3 on 3. If only our "snipers" put half of their chances away. Too many dekes attempt... Just shoot it man.

If we go back to the previous Metro division, unless these kids progress, super fcking well and really fast, this is not a playoff team in the 2022-2023 "ready to compete" timeframe. You don't make the playoffs with 4 good players, and the rest AHL grinders.

I read this in their voices.

Oh and btw, what the frig am I listening to the Islander play by play guy and Keith Jones? It hurts this putz Burke to say anything positive about any Ranger player.

He’s who I wanted at 9 after he was talked up all year by @Trxjw and @Edge. The Parise comparisons were really enticing.
