It's a f***ing mystery to me. I watch highlights from Laf in the Q and I'm like

I just wish someone calling the game or at NBCSN would just state the obvious.

The Rangers are playing with a lot of guys that wouldn’t be on the team, if not for Covid, injuries, and freak leave situations.

That’s not an excuse. It’s just a fact. The same way the Flyers were very undermanned when we played them a week ago. It’s ok to say it.

They mentioned it under their breath for all of 5 seconds during the play.

It's been 16 games. Has it been a good year? No, its been brutal so far but dark ages is a bit much. The dark ages is because we had no talent and no prospect pool. This is a far different situation. Look at the talent that is not in the lineup. Look at the prospect pool. It's just going to take a little more time.

I think we agree on the same thing. We can both see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But this tunnel, at least the part we’ve traversed so far, is darker than the dark ages. Those times were bad because there was no hope. In the moment though, the product was arguably better than what we’ve witnessed in 2020. And that team didn’t have to kick one of its better players off the team or a Russian media scandal to deal with.

I genuinely miss when the Rangers were the team who grinder out wins against more skilled teams. This team doesn’t grind AT ALL. It’s all skill. Most teams who play these guys on a nightly basis must love playing these guys.
the issue is we’re being coached like we’re a bunch of grinders. we need to let our skill players play with skill.

I will say...this has been a fun game to watch. Much more fun those grinding 1 loss games we’ve seen all year.

With everyone out, might as well just go nuts.

We are a Blackwell open net PPG away from it being 4-3. Not upset with 4-2.

The last thing I want is for more people to see what I’ve been seeing. I really, really want to be wrong about this.

I almost exclusively watch him every shift. Most the time he's not really moving to open ice or trying to jump in the play. You can tell he never calls for the puck because he literally never has it on his stick.

I don't see anything that was advertised. Sure, he'll probably be one hell of a Ranger long term, god I hope so, But man he's way behind his peers and far behind his prospect/scouting reports.

I'll give em 7-10 games to figure out the speed but man this is getting a little long.

I still remember that shift in the 2nd period at the 10 min mark of game 2 vs the Islanders. Lafreniere was everywhere. Good times.

Maybe a Srome brain for a tied game.

laf needs to proverbially tell the coach to f*** off and play his own game his own way. is the coach gonna just sit him when we have no other forwards?

Nobody expected them to well in this game.

It's the laziness from the same vets and like of preparation when the coach preaches work ethic and preparation.

I think calling a team unprepared is just an easy narrative for fans to bestow on a coach/game.

They may be unprepared, but it’s really difficult to prove that.

Vets making the same mistakes? Fair. But also, some of the positions these guys are put in, is because of all the guys out. Is what it is.

Man I really hope Kravtsov pans out. I'm on the record as not being optimistic at his chances to be a real impact player. Looking at the progress of some of those guys behind him, Farabee obviously, it gives you that nauseated feeling.

Fortunately he hasn't even played here yet and has plenty of time to make me eat my words.
Imagine Farabee and Suzuki on this roster. It hurts to think about.

No but we had to send Theo Fleury to rehab when he was having a monster season after his disastrous first year.
