That play by Callahan is something I hate. Had plenty of time to turn up ice, instead turned back towards his own goal twice. It's something the Rangers do all the time and it's incredibly frustrating.

Im not someone to complain about how the game is played, but this game is petty tough to watch from both teams.

Between 1:20 and 1:00 of the first, Krieder was caught in no man's land and thats when Sam said Montreal had their best shift of the period because they got two point shots. CK was in between the Montreal forwards that were down low and the Montreal point men. When they moved it up to the point, he was too low to get back up to pressure, let alone block, the shots that were coming from up there. That's part of our system and he didn't execute as well as Torts would like probably.

It's little things like that that he needs to learn to get in the lineup consistently, from Torts perspective i'm guessing.
I have no doubt he will learn things like this and be in the lineup consistently by the end of the season.

Except...that's exactly where he was supposed to be.

Exactly.

Its called support. The wings aren't exclusive to the point. They have to drop low when the puck is below the goal line. That's how it works.

I watched that sequence several times. The puck was below the goal line majority of the time. And he was exactly where he needed to be.

And because he was there, he was able to get control of the puck and they got it up ice.
