This is the problem . . . all of these guys, you can individually say 'well, he's getting market', but you can't make a whole team like that. You need the pieces to complement one another, and you need guys who's production exceeds what they're being paid (entry level or bridge deals, for example).

IF Crosby and Malkin play well when they come back, we're still very much a threat to make the playoffs. Crosby should fix the PP or at least make it competent and I think we're a dramatically different team if we start scoring there.

Me too.

And I was so sure Zucker-Malkin-Rust would kill it because Malkin with Rust and Rust 2.0 had to kill it.

That said, for as bad a fit as he's been, Zucker has been the Pens best top 6 forward since the playoffs, even if that's not saying shit.
