Looks like the Canes are trying to showcase the Staal-Staal combo to Marc again... Supposedly they are playing together tonight.

Sabres play tonight that means the game won't be on for me. I have the MSG channel and Time Warner Cable always says the Rangers game is on in the guide but when your turn it on it is the Sabres game. It truely is an awful thing.

Turn your TV around. Could work......nah

Sorry. I'm a rookie on this board and thought the correct spelling of Stepan in the next sentence might give you a clue of whom I was referring to. Apologies again. Rookie mistake. Will get my headed checked asap.

this board is very touchy about steps name. dont take it personally. we viciously attack fans of other team who come and criticize stefan or try to propose trading their ******** for stephan.

by the way

personally i think they to put together the staal-staal-staal line.

I can only hope. The best thing Jared has done in the AHL this year is not get scored on as much as years prior. Unless you mean they trade for Marc before the game. Lindholm and Faulk might look pretty good in the Rangers line-up...

I thought for sure he was more productive than that as a Ranger. I remembered him being near a point per game when he retired... Maybe I just remember his 60-goal years and it's clouding my memory.

Yeah, I was just counting goals.

no no i meant call up jared

The Canes have already won their allotted Stanley Cup for this century. There's brotherly love, and then there is sanity. I highly doubt that Marc Staal is pining to be a Hurricane.

Lets Go Rangers!!

Yeah, I was just counting goals.

I also looked. My memory was incorrect, either way. I was certain he had 60-goals in Florida. He had 58 and 59. Terrible player. :sarcasm:

I always wanted to be Bure when I was growing up. If for nothing else, the joy of flying around the ice at a level and pace no one else could touch. Forget the insane scoring, that had to be exhilarating by itself.

Frankly, I'm not as attached to Marc as a lot of Rangers fans. I understand his talent, and enjoy watching him, but if the Rangers can hose the Canes in a trade like Pittsburgh did for Jordan: #8 overall, Sutter [10-point lesser version of Jordan], and their top prospect not named Skinner... If Marc wants to go loaf around with his lazy brothers in Carolina after that, he is more than welcome.

faulk and a first for marc?

faulk and a first for marc?

I'd do that easily, especially if it's last year's first (Lindholm; was really hoping the Predators were going to have to make the decision between him and Barkov, seeing how certain I was Jones would go at 2 or 3). Even this year's 1st could end up being a pretty good player. I don't see that team making the post-season even with Marc and a fully healthy roster.

Carolina wouldn't do that. I doubt they ever trade Faulk tbh.

As true as that sounds, I wouldn't put it past Rutherford to make an idiotic trade for the sheer pleasure of the "marketing" of the 4 Staals. "Staaleigh." I can already see the moronic commercials and in-game pump-ups.

I'm pretty much for whatever helps the team, even though I really hope Staal stays and like the idea of seeing seeing certain guys be a Ranger their entire career. The only reason I posted what I did is that I think it is a big leap for folks to assume that a player necessarily wants to join his brothers. For all we know, Marc may fierecely hope that such a thing never occurs, maybe he likes that separation.

Like you say, if there was a good trade to be made, and Carolina was the partner, it could happen with or without Marc's feelings being a factor in any shape or form.

Lets Go Rangers!!
Get on a roll!!

same, but jordan was a marginal upgrade over sutter and the gave a first for that. the trades would be comparable.

They also added in their best non-NHL prospect in Dumoulin in the trade. Former 2nd round pick. That was a ridiculous trade when it was made, and with Jordan looking like he is too comfortable this season after his 10-year $60mil deal (Sutter actually has doubled his point production this year), it's getting worse and worse.

More productive than 31 goals 19 assists in 51 games?
