Wrong. Sorry. Do you have any IDEA how many teams would LOVE to have this guy on their team? Slow, ain't got crap to do with why anyone should want him gone.
He creates,
Sees the ice with the best of them
Has a good shot.....if he would shoot
Asked to play defense against the top players
Excellent on PK
Decent on FO's
Can slow down opposing teams momentum
Will score 50-60 pts

Okay, you want him off. I want a huge return, if they decide on keeping ZBAD. Think it will come down to what team offers MORE for either one of them.
Hayes is 26 and hasn't hit 50 pts yet.. I highly doubt he can hit 60

I understand Pionk make the simple play. Same appeal as having mcdonagh on the PP. and Quinn is desperately trying to get Shattenkirk going. Give it time. ADA will get his shot again.

Also, haven't talked to you in forever. Hows it going my guy?
Good man, hope everything's going well with you too.

after a few years of very bland AV hockey. its refreshing to have some 'tude. i dont mind that penalty either.

mark messier is still my all time favorite player and he was um... unpleasant to play against. hockey isnt figure skating. its a full contact sporty and tempers flair.

100% ok with deangelo last night.

I watched Tony's fight with Kyle Burroughs last year in the AHL and Burroughs isn't a slouch. Tony let's his arms hang at the beginning but you could see he knew what he was doing. I could tell right off it was going to be a good fight. I saw his body relax and that's when his zone came in. He's not very big or strong but he's not a pushover either. He's going to stand his ground when push comes to shove......and he won the fight.

I think his body language is better this year than last year just playing the game. He got onto the PK last night too which is a good sign.

The best thing he did last night was the two shifts right after his penalty. The coaches gave him a vote of confidence and instead of being stuck on the previous play, he went out and dominated 2 shifts. The second shift should've resulted in a goal. Hayes had a top notch opportunity.

ADA with two count em TWO sexy spin moves last night, one in the offensive zone that lead to a solid opportunity.

He also had a stellar pass to hayes in the slot that would've been a goal if hayes hit the net.

Overall, solid game. Stop the penalties pls. Skjei-ADA is a solid 2nd pair

ADA's urge to sexy spin is as strong as Hank's urge to sexy head the puck.

I like that ADA stood up for himself. He doesn't need to cross-check the guy in the neck right off the bat, but he should give back a couple of shoves. It's something that he can adjust hopefully. Sandpaper without crossing the line.

Some takeaways...

It's so easy to appreciate a players game when that player is well rounded. Howden had a very impressive game, and was excellent this road trip. Then factor that he did so playing against some legit Centers, it makes it that much sweeter. Last night, late in the game had a couple of very important faceoff wins. He was relied on by his coach, and he got the job done. Again, i think he is one of the most important pieces of this rebuild to date.

Vesey has been a whipping boy here for quite some time. I think the change (Quinn) brings out the best in a player like him. What I love most about what we are seeing with him now is the chemistry with Howden. Fast is playing well with them, but I feel like these two are the core peices on a line that is exicitng, and fun to watch. I think Quinn is using #26 to the best of his ability.

Hayes finally had a good game. Best i think i have seen of him all season, and throughout half of last season. He owned the faceoff circle last night. Hope that continues.

Pionk who gets alot of negative attention here has been pretty good far. He's a blue collar player, and doesn't always look so great in what he doing but he is getting it done.

#20, despite being held off the scoreboard was an animal on the puck last night. That's the players everyone wants to see on a nightly basis.

I had a long conversation with Scott Gomez years ago. Its was largely about Coaches that let their players actually play to the best of thier own ability. Like...focus on what you are good at and more importantly "Let your Horses run!" was the exact term he used.. This applies to this club.

Zbad is the centerpeice of this offense. Let him fire away that shot every chance he gets. Let em loose!
Kreider's speed and strength is so apparent when he is on is rediuculous. Let him play that puck pursuit game, and let em loose!
Tony D displayed some really pretty skating last night. Give him the green light to do it more. Let him loose!

This is something I am really liking.

The reality is that the pucks aren't always going to go in, but there are a number of guys who find ways to stand out even when the stat sheet doesn't reflect their efforts.

Kreider deserves a lot of credit for his work here, and so does a guy like Howden.

And that is what the new coach is looking for from everyone.

Still disagree...Vesey can't figure out how to play to his strengths. If he plays as a straight forward forechecking crash the net player, he's solid. When he tries to play as a puck possession fancy moves player trying to make amazing passes all the time, he kills his line. Last night in OT was a prime example of the problems with Vesey. He just straight up gave the puck away for no reason because he has limited vision and awareness. There were several other instances like that last night as well but that one is the easiest to point out.

He's simply not good enough to carry the puck, he needs to stop doing it.

I thought I saw DeAngelo out of position more than I'd like last night

e: for as good of a game as Howden had last night I still see a lot of room for improvement in him. Not in a bad way, he just still sometimes tries to make plays that look more junior level than NHL level.

Great tip feed on the Howden goal, though. But yeah, I echo your sentiments.

and he made that play by just going to the net!

He has good hands, he just doesn't have the brain to use them consistently as a puck carrier.

While he hasn't figured it all out, it looks like he's on the right path though. A path that he likely would have never seen under AV, imo. Quinn has only had the summer and a month of the regular season to put his stamp on these players. That's not a lot of time.

DQ spends a lot of time with these players off ice. Especially with the breakfasts at the Dairy Queen.

Except for Buch. He's not invited to those.

Glad I stayed up for this one. Was disappointed they gave up the lead again but took care of it in a SO. I think Mika would have scored in OT but a Ducks player was holding his stick and no penalty.

One big bright point in this game is Howden is really starting to settle in on the NHL level. Looking really good out there.

Oh and CK is still a beast. Thought he had a strong game.

This kid is from Haavard! Not only can he figure it out, he has already started to and is playing at a level that we haven't really tasted with him yet.

As a puck carrier he is certainly limited...but every player is going to carry it in today's game. I do agree on the OT giveaway and the fancy moves. It's something he should stay away from. He probably learned it from his buddy Hayes.

In all though, i feel like we as fans are watching a line come together with players that compliment each other well at this stage.
