Just unreal. I still have nightmares over the Rangers being stuck in their own zone running around like chickens with their heads cut off blocking shots in last year's playoffs. Torts would really love to go back to that garbage I guess.

Once again, all for Boyle being cemented at no higher than the 4th line. Its the remarks that he is some fringe hockey player destined to live in the AHL that confuses me.

All 3 players on our 4th line are playing better than Boyle. However, as I said I wouldn't lose sleep if he replaced one of them. Replacing Kreider is a BIG mistake.

Exactly. Want to give Halpern or Asham a night off to keep them fresher down the line? Fine. Let's see what Boyle can do with their ice time plus PK opportunities.

To break up that 3rd line, which when it's in place makes us a much more intriguing team, is so dumb.

have to agree... i don't think any of them should be replaced for brian boyle, but replacing kreider is the worst idea possible for his development. the kid just needs to build up some confidence. his issues seem to be all mental. as of right now-- boyle has no place on this team. give it a few games for halpern or powe to throw their swag

Miller gets his 5th game. Then the Rangers will have a decision to make with him. If Miller plays in his 6th game, the SPC clock begins this season. Putting him on the wing means less defensive responsiblity. Maybe the Rangers have already made their decision to keep Miller.

I think if Boyle has a good game, they send Miller down. If Boyle turns in the effort he has all season, Miller will stay up.

Anyone who didn't see this move coming after blowing a 3 goal lead in the third period is blind as a bat.

Boyle was a huge reason as to why we were perfect when leading after 2 periods last year.

Clear reason why he's back in the lineup. Hoping he sticks and Kredier comes back with a fire under his ass for Asham.

The D situations with Bickel being scratched, Eminger going for a cond. stint keeps Gilroy honest with his play to be defensively solid while trying to contribute offensively. The Asham, Boyle, Kreider situation is keeping the "extra" forwards on their toes as well. This is good in a way even though the constant changing of lineups might mess up the rhythm and flow of things when crunch time comes around.

Anyone who doesn't agree with this move needs to get their head checked.

You're replacing Kreider with Boyle. One player who hasn't done anything all season, with a guy who is angry about being benched and will come out with fire and intensity.

One player swap will not change the identity of how this team has played recently. If Kreider was owning, and playing out of his mind, it would be a different story. In that case you'd probably sit Powe, Asham or Halpern in place of Boyle.

This move is fine, Kreider needs to sit and reevaluate why he's playing like a scared kitten.

Or you can say we are replacing a player with talent with a player with almost none. And that would be just as true. Kreider had two great setups in the Tampa game. If those turned into goals would he deserve to stay in the lineup? He has been playing well defensively and forechecking well also. His one goal is 1 more than Boyle has in 9 games.

Scratching Kreider is stupid, anyway you slice it.

It's the coaching staff's job to figure out what combinations work for each player. It's plain as day Kreider needs a pure passer like Richards to get him the puck.

Boyle SHOULD be in, but he should be in for Asham, not Kreider.

My worry is that we're playing a string of weak teams, which will lead to wins and the benching of Kreider for the foreseeable future. We should win despite the 3rd line being turned into just another Grind Line full of Tort's favorite condiment, Jam. Torts will think himself a genius and Kreider won't sniff the ice.

That has nothing to do with it. Kreider wasn't on the ice in the last few minutes. This is likely a showcase for Boyle and an opportunity to see Miller on the wing before they decide whether to send him down or not. Torts was not unhappy with the comeback the other night; he saw if for what it was; hockey bounces. Boyle is not a huge reason for anything positive as it relates to the Rangers. And he will showcase tonight his crappy skill set.

Damn, will everyone shut up. The "sky if falling" mentality around here is ridiculous. Kreider is doing nothing and creating nothing out there. Pyatt and Callahan play similarly in the offensive zone. It's not a big switch. Also, if I had to guess, Cally will be on the left side most of the time and Gaby the right no matter where they line up on the faceoff. It's FINE.

Yes, Boyle is a FRINGE 4th liner; he has NO hockey sense, NO finish and NO IDEA how to use his size...it really is no wonder that as soon as he exits the lineup we win out...

What player have you been watching this season?? The dude has one hot week each year, and people want him as a fixture in the top-9; it baffles me! The dude has no clue out there, and is, when at his best, just a pylon that gets in front of shots because he has no other option...

He would be an OK third liner in the AHL probably, and would dominate in the ECHL at this point...

lolz at Boyle being showcased.

I would look up his AHL stats if I were you. Then compare them to Miller or Kreider's.

This is a message board.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

That's hilarious.

I don't see anyone saying they are happy with Boyle on the 3rd line (although there could be worse things, like say, oh, Mike Rupp on the 3rd line) but more that Kreider hasn't played that well either.

Watch the games man. Kreider has been invisible. He's playing tentative and scared.

He needs to sit for a few games and re-evaluate why he's up here in the first place.

For a player his age, in his first rookie season as a pro, complacency can not be in his dictionary.

The WORST possible thing this team could do, would be do send Miller back down, bench Kreider, and put Boyle back on the 3rd line.

I'm telling you, this team is best when Miller AND Kreider are in the lineup.

What's the point of sending Miller down? He's not gonna learn anything more at the AHL level that he can't learn here.

If Miller goes back down and Boyle is back on the 3rd line...I will lose my freakin' mind.

I want Miller here so NHL 13 updates the rosters!!
