its not that kreider is benched its that boyle is in for him. benching kreider is one thing but replacing him with a pylon who can win a faceoff isnt helping anyone
I agree thats Torts for you. I have a bad feeling he will ruin this kid and then we will trade him somewhere and he will flourish somewhere else

Who are you going to replace? Its obvious that Kreider has been the superior player this year, hence why he sits against the Islanders and not the Bruins. Boyle was going in for either Kreider or Miller, and if you think he was taking out Powe/Halpern/Asham you just don't understand Boyle's perceived role is on this team.

Why does Brian Boyle cause so much conflict? Him and CK haven't done a lot recently, although I also would rather see CK in.

I dont see what the big deal is, especially facing the Isles. People ***** when we don't have enough depth, this is what happens when you do. It's a good thing.

ck can skate boyle cant
ck can score boyle cant
ck can pass boyle cant

we are on a 3 game winning streak with boyle benched and ck in yet boyle is going to be playing in this hockey game

Yes clearly it's all Boyle's fault we were losing, and him being gone is the reason we've won 3 straight

umm what?

our 3rd line has been great without that ****ing pylon slowing us down. his role is a defensive center who can win a bog face off. same role as halpern. boyle is not a 3rd line center he should be nowhere near the top 9

Thats a lot of line shuffling for a team on a three game winning streak.

Only Rangers mod on the board. God in heaven.....

Mod suit on.

Thank you for illuminating me.

I want CK in, I'm just saying it's not a big deal. If we didn't have capable players sitting out, we wouldnt have the great depth that we have. I hope Boyle gets a hat trick tonight.

they can all skate better, check harder, and produce a goal here and there. boyle hasnt shown any of that

They are also a liability defensively.

And how has Miller or Kreider shown they can check harder than Boyle? Boyle can definitely produce a goal "here or there".

i believe you said 4th line kreider and miller would be on the third line

None of those 4th liners check harder than Boyle. And i would argue Boyle is a better offensive threat than all of them as well.

You are clearly biased if you think jeff halpern throws bigger hits than brian boyle. You also have no clue how a 6'6, 240LBS body feels hitting you versus a 6'0, 200LBS one.

all i know is that a boyle "hit" looks more like a rub or a love tap and then boyle usually falls down. boyle cannot use his size at all

I have no problem with Boyle playing but some overrate him to the point where its hard not to laugh.

If that's what you think then i'm not even going to try and prove my point because you are absurdly biased.

2011-12:

Brian Boyle: 0.66 G/60

Arron Asham: 0.51 G/60
Darroll Powe: 0.38 G/60
Jeff Halpen: 0.33 G/60

That's even strength. None of them scored a powerplay goal.

The way Kreider has been playing, the scratching this game was a no brainer. He haven't been awful or anything, just not good. I know that some disagree, but that's my opinion. And it's a good thing keeping all player aware that if you're not 100% contributing you will be the next one out.

And for Boyle, he is what he is, and will never be a star. But he is damn solid, and till the day cones when Kreider is the star we all want him to be, he will have to fight for his spot. Benching him for a few games won't "ruin" him, it will strengthen his character.
