We have to wait for what seems an eternity for this kids KHL contract to finish and his play was dipping the past month after his hot start to the year. Really wish he could of played this season from the start with the Devils so we can see if he has top 6 NHL chops. If Fitzgerald makes a trade for a forward there might be no room for him to get games in the regular season.
There were info he was injured and played some time with injury. Now he isn’t playing and on the recovery.

It’s been a month since the original poll, a decent amount has happened since, and the draft is in less than a month. Original poll also excluded a viable option in Cooley as well as a couple of other reach options.

Cooley isn’t better than Slafkovsky now. And still Slafkovsky would be better fit in top six now. Anyway we have no opportunity to draft him.
It was a mtl pick from the beginning. Slaf would be much better here than there and now their team is struggling overall. May be they could feel better now if they would draft Michkov but they were way too smart to make that pick. They made two bad decisions on the draft for themselves and for a player they picked in two drafts in a row.
But they w I’ll finally find another good center on the 2025 draft. It is little too late for them but may be Hage will start to play on a good level that help to not hurry their future new guy.
Teams in the deep rebuild are mess. Especially when gms are making wrong decision. As for their team as for their players. They could have Tkachuk, Cooley/Wright(worser player, better fit/need) and Michkov. Even without Tkachuk it would be much better constructed structure.
