The points don’t jump off the page but improving his goal scoring rate that much has to be a good sign. He’s signed through next year right? Would be nice to have him next year especially if we’re not dead set on signing Toffoli to an extension.

The more recent runs numbers are pretty jumpy.

Would love to have this kid next season but I don’t think it’s possible contractually?

One more season after this one.
I feel like we've been saying "one more season after this one" with him since like 2012. He'll long since retire, fall into a front office job with some KHL team, work his way up to assistant coach and then head coach and after years of being close but not close enough bring his team to the championship and win it. It will be posted in a tweet here and someone will say, how much longer until he can come here???

One more season after this one.

15 goals, 27 points in 35 games as mostly bottom six player. He is at least as productive as Panarin was in the same SKA in the same age 10 years ago.. Gritsyuk’s previous season was better than Panarins. I don’t think he is as talented and his ceiling is as high, but he is good, you know.

Why bottom six? Did Ruff make a call to the SKA coach to tell him how to handle young talented scoring wingers?

There was a point where Gritsyuk went scoreless for 3 straight games, then played under 3 minutes the following game before not playing again for a month. Since then he's had 15 pts in 13 games. Maybe Lindy took notes and is cooking something up with Holtz

SKA is a big team, full of talents. Gritsyuk started slowly before. But there were not enough competition in Avangard for top-6 role, there are a lot of competition in SKA. And SKA are monetizing it when they have productive bottom lines. SKA are playing in forechecking style of hockey, Gritsyuk couldnt catch the rythm from the start and he was injured after. Now team is doing well so I believe coaches are not hurry to change what is working well.
