Would love to have this kid next season but I don’t think it’s possible contractually?

His KHL deal runs through 2024-25, so it depends on when SKA gets eliminated from the playoffs. In theory he could sign a 1 year ELC that would burn immediately and he'd be RFA summer 2025.

Several years back, Nikita Gusev signed with Vegas and joined them for a few practices during their 2018 playoff run. Gusev was RFA after the season.

Nobody told me there'd be days like these...

I expect they'd want to get actual value from the 1 year ELC before committing RFA dollars to him?

It'd be nice if they could get the ELC for 2025-26, but sometimes that's the price of doing business. I'm sure Vegas would have preferred Gusev's ELC to start the year after. Minnesota got nothing out of Kaprizov's first ELC year.

Almost got a super a sick assist. He got tripped and sent a no look pass laying down behind his head

Now gets a primary assist on the PP he drew. Took a rebound off the wall and sent it to a guy in the slot who scores

Another primary assist lol. Pass from the goal line and sauces it over the Ds stick to a guy in the slot for a one timer

Edit: Wait I missed the 6th goal when I was watching. I didn't know he got a pt on this goal. I was talking about the 7th goal lol

37 games, 16 goals, 32 points. 22 years
Panarin got 20 goals and 40 points in 51 games when he was 22 yo.

It feels like he takes the first half of the year slow every year and then just goes god mode the back half of the season

It is a same story I believe three years in a row. He is scorer and scorers are stricky. He wasn’t healthy enough in the first half and his wife was pregnant.
I still believe he isn’t as all around talented as Panarin but even half of Panarins production is a good outcome. I think he has more than half in his game.

In the never ending nightmare season its good to have Arseniy and Seamus to joy something.

And LENNI. Those 3 and then Luke, Nemec, and Holtz on the main roster have been my sources of joy for this godforsaken season

Yeah of course! Lenny is great too. It’s really a development season even if we didn’t wait for it. I would say I want to save all of them, because even with or without goaltending Devils still need more talents to add to the roster.

btw Panarin played with Shipachyov(one of the best KHL players in the history) and Dadonov. Gritsyuk played a lot with Bardakov(3-4th line center) and Rendulic(good Croatian player but still not on the level with Dadonov and Shipachyov)

Has a player ever come over to the NHL while still being under contract in the KHL or is that not possible?
Malkin? There were some situations, I don’t remember correctly. They have agreement, it doesn’t work well in case of Fedotov, but case of Fedotoov is very specific, different people blame different sides, I think he and /or his agent are stupid persons. Every other players doing things with the right way to do.
I believe they can terminate the deal, but I don’t actually see why they will do it. Gritsyuk is having a good deal, he can travel after next season and burn ELC.
I know it would be great to have him now, but still it would be great to have him for the play off next season when Luke and Simon will be more experienced and Fitz(I hope) will find good starting goalie. We are having some kind of noise and reputation issue with McLeod and Foote, so I believe we don’t need another racket around illegal removal of Gritsyuk.
