This seems a bit much…

reminiscent of the speeds I saw there when I went in 99. Good sign for what I like to see at this tournament. Let's be honest I don't mind seeing the players put up monster numbers at most tournaments, but when it comes to the Open Championship and the US Open I want to see the course win. May try to go out on Friday if there are still gallery tickets available.

FWIW forecast is looking great this week. 80s into the low 90s, no rain projected, and the humidity at a reasonable level for this time of year.

I think USA is literally airing more commercial time than golf.

Almost unwatchable honestly

Oh so THATS why there are so many under par scores. :shakehead I'm not tuning in to watch Valhalla Part 2. What happened to the major I loved the most?
No wind, weather is pretty much perfect. Greens and distance are the only thing protecting the course.

Then again, 14 players under par at this point. 65 players shot under par the first day at Valhalla.

Heading towards a 5th MC in Justin Thomas's last 7 majors. He could've taken LIV money and his absence would not have been felt.
He’s only 30 and won a major last year. I think his absence would be felt over time, even if currently you’re right about his play.

Cantlay in the clubhouse 5 under

Could it be his time for a major

Has been bad all year. Might just be a good round.

Would be funny if Xander and Cantlay went back to back.

I think we’ll see the course gradually get harder. They aren’t going to start it out where -1 or something like that is leading after a day.

The winner will be in the low single digits. The scores aren’t even that low. There are only four guys beyond -1.

Fairways are definitely baking out and firming up, you can see on TV more good drives are finding the native areas now, afternoon wave are not going to go as low as morning wave.

Scottie Rory and Xander all had issues laying up out of the native/waste areas. What you want to see

I've bet money on Scottie only once before, at last year's Open. He finished T23. It's one of just two finishes outside the top-20 since November 2022.

I bet on him again this week, and there's a good chance he finishes outside the top-20 again. I'm thinking of launching an investigation because there's just no way that he isn't purposely tanking when he knows I'm invested in him.
