Speculation: 12/13' Trades/Proposals: Short season is better than none, now for trades.

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. While the players’ vote ratifies the new CBA with the NHL owners, a written Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) consistent with what the players voted on, must be completed before the Agreement becomes final. The NHLPA and the NHL continue their work to finalize the MOU.

not really hard to explain. Grabo is the best 2 way player we have. one of the best defensive forwards we have. and Franson is still an unproven D. i think this deal is basically a "prove me your worth it" deal.

He's a pylon with a very good shot.

A poor man's Marc-André Bergeron.
 
beyond needing a right handed shot Franson makes good decisions with the puck on the blue line
he knows when to put it deep or get it on net if he can , i'm glad he's back

Are you getting bad reception from your television in Quebec? You can't even put MAB and Franson in the same sentence. MAB has zero defensive game and is a powerplay specialist while Franson fits more in the two-way mold. I don't even know if you are a Leaf fan, but Franson by far was under-used if anything this season. He would play great then get scratched for Komisarek. If you want to call him soft then by all means but a pylon? Let's get serious now, Hakim Optical is having a sale on glasses.

Did I hit a nerve?

The man can't skate, has minimal hockey IQ and was a healthy scratch a number of times both by Wilson and Carlisle on the 29th-ranked defensive team in the NHL, worse than Edmonton and Colombus...

i think his salary this year is just to prove himself as a 3/4 guy.

Still young and with Luke gone he will have vamp up his physical play on RD.

He will be given a HUGE opportunity considering Komisarek is the only other RHS on D ATM.

Still kind of weird that Frattin was a scratch vs. Hamilton. Have a feeling they were protecting him for a reason...

Well, he had been slumping before that game, he's been goal-less for a while and hasn't scored many points over the last month.

It's possible they just wanted to take him out of the line-up early and get him refocused and rested for training camp because he is seen as part of the future here.

He's done quite well in other markets...being a scratch, if anything, might actually credit his game rather than dismiss it.

Then again, this might be a precursor to a trade. I would welcome a quick one this evening.

Klatt, that is way too much for a rental. We aren't getting either of those guys for Lupul (as the center piece).

EDIT: The plus would have to be Gardiner.

I know. It's the speculation thread and there's no outlandish rumours/speculation.... Just days ago there was a flurry of Luongo speculation, then it just died.

So far only specuatlions have been some low rate players that will sign (Fehr and Foster)

I was hopeful that they would get this thing done today and begin the show

i constantly forget that mofo is about to be a UFA. BAH. yeah, i figured the plus would need to be big, but with him being UFA it would need to be bigger than Lupul himself.
