Important to remember that Jones is almost a full year older than MacKinnon, and almost would have been draft-eligible this past year, if I'm not mistaken.

Draisaitl isn't draft eligible until next year.

His birthday comes in after the September 15th deadline.

If anyone wants to temper their draft lottery enthusiasm, go find a draft simulator on the internet and run it a few times.

Depressing.

Bobby Clarke has Diabetes and didn't have a bad career.

He's not the only one. I don't know the details, and I'm not a physician, but what I've been told is that is what is scaring off some scouts.

I don't really know how it effects your performance, that's just what I've been told. It was the one big knock on NBA super-bust Adam Morrisson.

Diabetes is a major issue for athletes if not properly dealt with. Problems adding/maintaining weight, problems with energy levels and the consistancy of energy levels...

Seen it be a hindrance more than a few times in a bunch of different sports.

Yes people lose perspective on this whole lottery draft:

How many times did it take for the Leafs to get top 3 for you?

1. Boston
2. Calgary
3. Minnesota
4. Columbus
5. Tampa Bay
6. Buffalo
7. Winnipeg
8. St. Louis
9. Toronto
10. New Jersey
11. Montreal
12. Philadelphia
13. Washington
14. Los Angeles
15. Carolina
16. Anaheim
17. Florida
18. Pittsburgh
19. Nashville
20. Dallas
21. Detroit
22. Vancouver
23. San Jose
24. Colorado
25. Ottawa
26. Edmonton
27. Chicago
28. NY Islanders
29. NY Rangers
30. Phoenix

Very unrealistic, I mean.. Phoenix at 30?

edit: second time - Leafs get 6th

edit: third time - 2nd overall!

Got this on my first try. :)
I will take it.

Love the Bettman's draft though.

Burke sounded like he was very interested in Drouin. Knew that his father and brother were taller, and thus that Jonathan has room to grow.

I don't think I believe that Drouin is 5'11", 176 pounds. That's the same height as Crosby, and only 15 pounds less. He looks really small out there. But given that he looks young (much like the majority of kids his age), I'd say he has room to grow. I was growing until I was about 19, and at 21 I'm still filling in, so it's certainly possible that he gets bigger.

I'd love Drouin. Certainly not NHL ready, but he's got elite skill while having a never-quit attitude, and playing a solid 200 ft game. He really shocked me this tournament. I'd still prefer Mackinnon but Drouin could really be picked anywhere at the upcoming draft.

Meh. At the end of the day, the Leafs still have a better chance than most teams. There could be an unlucky run against us, but the odds are in our favour. If you run the draft simulator ten times or so, the Leafs more often than not end up with a pretty good pick.
