Hank really showed why he is a future HOF’er

McLeod sits next for Buch.

Wouldn’t be opposed to bring up Lias for a few games and let Chytil get some confidence back in Hartford

Good thing names didn't break his hand or arm. He's rolling right now. Maybe we got some steady lines finally. Howden line was great. Hayes Spooner and Names had some life.

I think when McQuaid or Claesson are healthy Pionk needs to sit for a few.

Guy needs to be stronger on the boards and in coverage if they’re going to deploy him like a defensive defenseman. If not then he needs to be sheltered. He screened Lundqvist on the first goal instead of clearing his man and then the third goal his poor, weak play was an abomination.

TDA had another nice game. The pair of him and Skjei is good. I also like Smith-Shatty as a pair. Staal-Pionk is just not good.

Nice of Kreider to wake up. He had a good third. Hayes was very good again. I honestly don’t know if they should move Hayes. I know assets and everything but he’s youngish, wants to be a Ranger and he’s a damn good hockey player.

Some good offensive tools that show up about 1 in every 8 or so games. Slow skater, weak shot, lazy player, and doesn’t help that he’s below average defensively.

Pionk is smarter and a better skater. His passing and hands are also just as good as Shattenkirk’s.

Oddly, Quinn broke them up after Namestnikov got hurt. He moved Kreider up and Vesey to his spot on Hayes’ line. McLeod and Lettieri alternating up to Vesey’s spot. Chytil benched.

I see the logic, but he should’ve stuck with the line that was working and shuffle the others.
 
Quinn has no trust in Chytil McLeod huh

Pionk is a better skater but that’s about it. Pionk’s passing and hands are not even close to Shattenkirks level let alone better than his. Not even close. The passing especially. Nope.

Despite our absolute best to give that game away, we come away with 2 points. Hank was cheating on goal 2 anticipating a pass I think, but regardless that was a great performance.

Right now there's not a hole deep enough for Jesper to crawl down into, you knows he felt terrible on the drop pass with the empty net waving at him. Pionk...with mere seconds left like that, pin that puck on the board and battle.

I agree that Pionk should sit, but I doubt Quinn will bench a player that he gave almost 25 min on the last game. I think the first bad game TDA have he will be sent back to the stands.

Also, Hayes is good, but Zibanejad is better and will be cheaper. If one of Chytil, Howden, Lias and probably our next 1st round pick don't become better than Hayes we are f***ed. Hopefully he will start to get more points so we can get more assets for him.
