Scratching Buch makes no sense. He's not playing great, but this is more out of the AV playbook.

Play him with bad linemates and not a lot of minutes -> he unsurprisingly doesn't do much -> scratch him because he hasn't done much. Rinse and repeat with each cycle resulting in more and more confidence lost.

And how exactly does it make sense to play Chytil with McLeod and Lettieri? Come on. We want to develop him, giving him 8 mins a night with AHL quality linemates isn't going to help much.

Quinn needs to at least get him on PP2 and some random shifts up through the lineup mixed in. It makes no sense for Spooner, Vesy and Fast to be in the top 9 if Chytil is going to be on the 4th line and Buchnevich is going to be scratched.

So benching buchnevich when the team can’t score and playing our best prospect with Mcleod and Lettieri on the 4th line for 8 mins is different from what AV would do how?

This is horrible developmental coaching. Please send Chytil to Hartford before it’s too late.

No problem along with Hayes as the main components. Is Nylander worth 7-8 million? His stats look good but is it because of being Matthews wing?
 
Why does everyone make excuses for Buchnevich? He hasn't played well, he started at the top of the lineup and worked his way down due to his play. If we want our top players to play to a higher level they have to play to that level or sit. Buchnevich is on the verge of being Zherdev unless he mans up and plays to the level that Quinn, Gorton and we all know he can.
Chytil had numerous opportunities to make a difference as well, the coach wants to win and neither him or Buchnevich is making that happen so it's up to them to get back into the spot they want to be and should be. The message is clear from the coach, earn your minutes.

I said it all summer buchnevich was a dog last year when he had a chance to shine so I’m not surprised however he’s 23. He is playing on a rebuilding team and quite frankly everyone around him is playing just as horribly. He should be playing if for no other reason than to up his trade value. But it’s clear that benchings don’t work with this kid so this isn’t helping.

And it’s not different from AV’s previous sabotage because he’s still pulling the strings via Renney.
 
Buch doesn't seem to handle pressure and tough love too well. At a certain point you've gotta wonder how much of this all is on Buch's end, he had a terrible relationship with AV and while it seems like he and Quinn are alright, the situation seems to be quickly deteriorating.
 
I think Buch gets tough love because coaches see how good he could be... Its not that hes playing bad, its that hes not playing to his full potential
 
Been less than a month and the shit is hitting the fan already with this coach. Imagine if it was 4 plus years . He will be tiptoeing on the minefield that is HFNYR
