prediction: we're winning 3-0 with 1 minute left and someone says the s word. hank lets in 4 goals in 8 seconds and we lose. then the poster is subsequently banished from hf

Perhaps its best to avoid mentioning certain goalie achievements as it causes a flame war.

This, and before anyone goes all "well then you must think we need Bickel!!?!!", that's not what I am saying. Just that this team lacks any significant players who can stand up for their teammates.

Montreal attempted to go this route. They brought in Prust, Armstrong, Bouillon and brought up White this season.

Buffalo attempted the same thing for a long time. They went out and got Ott, Scott and brought up McNabb and Foligno.

Teams recognize the need for toughness in their line-up.

Asham, Powe and Pyatt can stand up if need be. I really don't think it's as big a deal as others do. There are a handful of times in an entire season where having a guy like that is useful, and more often than not, nothing comes of it. Orpik on Kreider, Malkin chopping at Staal...

Also, granted that they aren't doing terribly right now, I wouldn't take Montreal or Buffalo as great examples of team building.

Never EVER EVER let me see you mention the names Powe and Pyatt when it comes to fighting or tough hockey.. Powe is aggressive but not a good fighter. Pyatt is softer then new born baby crap.. Boston will play tough but not really a goon team. Lucic and Thornton are both very good hockey players that fight.. we will be pushed around tonight but not gooned out..

B's fan here. What did Boyle do to get in Torts' doghouse?

No points and lackadaisical effort for a 3rd center + the shock factor for the team as he's just about the only returning bottom 6 player on this team who was also a "torts kind of guy" last year

Hasn't been providing enough offense, and once he got in the pressbox they brought in Powe. The 4th line has looked MUCH better as Powe-Halpern-Asham and Miller was brought up and scored 2 goals in his first game.

If Thornton is a very good hockey player, then so is everyone else in the NHL. Lucic I'll agree with.

Based on the up and down play we've seen so far this year? Wouldnt surprise me.

Again, hope I'm wrong.

I don't think we've played as well as we have the last two games all season long. We finally have a healthy and deep full four lines.

I feel Rangers will win today depending on Rask. We had a bunch of pretty decent games but our players got robbed by insane performances by goalies. Especially Nash keeps getting screwed by that, but the initial frustration seems to slowly yield to calculated adjustments. 4-2 Rangers in 3rd 5-2 final off a empty-netter.

Gaborik 2, Nash 1, Cally 1, Staal 1.

Just need to keep shooting. Rask is so far out of his crease that it will create issues off bounces and these seem to work well recently.

Don't care. Lucic is one of my favorite hockey players. Guy is an animal.
