i want nash or dz to start being the primary puck carrier during the pp rush up the ice. richards is sometimes too lackadaisical or he'll dump it with absolutely no chance of retrieval.

Honestly, if we removed Richards and Gabs from the PP it may look better. I think our PP should only be a meritocracy.

and he still gets 40, imagine if he was as hard working as guys like Nash.

He has ridiculous skills.

But his on-ice work ethic is...spotty, at best.

I'm sure he works hard off the ice, why doesn't that work continue on the ice, during games?

He floats, let's his linemates do all the work and then cashes in on it.

If he worked an ounce as much as Callahan, he'd be a 60 goal scorer.

The spotty effort is inexcusable when you are relied on to be a top performer.

I don't think making it a meritocracy, randomly grabbing ping pong balls out of a lottery machine, or any other method for picking the players on the ice is going to have a big improvement.

The problem is systemic.

May not see too much of Miller and Kreider the rest of the way. Miller had a rough shift there at the end of the PP.
I agree but i thought kreider was alright. he is starting to bring more toughness even though he is not know for that. They need to set the kid up because he has a great shot

Cangelosi......"good mid week crowd here at the Rock". Does this mean no sell out ? Fans should show up to see Barch, Bernier or Butler, lol.

Rangers on the Puppy Power Play.

Rangers on the Nintendo Power Play.

Rangers on the Girl Power Play.

If he worked as hard as Callahan, he'd be out of breath to get in position for his goals. Gaborik is all about being a silent assassin and cashing in when the opportunity arises. This should be nothing new as this has been Gabby's game his whole career.

Part of it is systemic absolutely. But some of it is lack of effort or lack of intensity. Especially with guys like Richards and Gabs.

I agree. His "work ethic" has been talked to death. We know the kind of player her is. This isn't news.

I dont understand why he has so much icetime he looks awful so far

We need Boyle back up asap. JT Miller ride was fun, but I think he is costing the team now. It's nice to get a good look of him before sending him down.

I like having Nash, Gaborik, and Callahan on 3 separate lines though. I hope this doesn't change. We need Gaborik on the RW.

Seriously, we're picking on Miller all of a sudden?

Other players guilty of brain farts or playing invisible: Gaborik, Girardi, Stralman, Richards, Staal.

Think you guys have it wrong with Gaborik. He looked like a different player earlier in his career with Minnesota. He's like Lindros was here, adapted his game to avoid constant injuries, becoming a perimeter player in the process. Also I think he has lost some speed over the years.
