And this seems to be primarily an issue with my county. Everyone I know in the next county over was in and out in under 15 minutes. I have never before had to spend more than 5 minutes voting in person.

Genuine question: why did all of you wait until today to vote? There are so many options for early voting now.

I missed the mail in registration because they changed the process here this year. The early voting location is only 2 miles from my house, but every time I drove by, the line was as long as the one I was in today.

I expected today to be shorter because of all the early, but at my local place today they lost a machine right out of the gate. 3 machines to 2 to open the day and they never recovered.

Like now still in line?!

Demasi was where I voted.

Yup. Pizza to the Polls just showed up.

Wait a minute. They had 3 machines total? One of three locations on the island had 5. That’s for one ward.

3 Hours just to get from evesboro-medford to the back corner oof the building. Probably another hour at least, if not more.
So, when I got in line at 9AM, I would categorize the line I was in as 3 parts of a square. The door, to a corner of parking lot, over to the other corner and then about as far of that initial line down towards Evesboro-Medford. That took 1:40 as I mentioned before. When I got out the line was longer than when I started. I would have never imagined 5 hours.

I drove past the spots on Elbo Lane and cars everywhere parked on street and Cops directing traffic.

Wild.

While on number of machines, I believe their were six at that location.

The Pizza to the polls reminds me of the water episode from Curb Your Enthusiasm

I think the other problem is you have large groups all together now, so it's not really single-file.

Wait a minute. They had 3 machines total? One of three locations on the island had 5. That’s for one ward.

Yup, 3 machines. It was an abomination.

Wife's colleague just left. Line is still expected to be about two hours based on a picture she sent. Insane.

For clarity, she didn't leave before voting. But she took a picture of the line and while it's not still at the road, it's not far from it either.

While still a travesty...the voter participation is encouraging.

They're often different locations. For me, early voting is a 30 minute drive and doing it today is a 3 block walk.

Plus I know there won't be a line where I live.
Same here - my son was off school today so I took him (3block walk was well) in and out at 8:30 in ~5 mins.
