There have been 3 leap years since he joined. It’s off by 3 days. I think it just counts total days. Did I solve this mystery and clear HFBoard’s ad-riddled good name?

I cant believe you researched this lol

Whoa. That is quite the bar. I’ll look into her some more. Thanks.
I'm going to go looking for some of her older films once I get the office finished and I can move the computer and boxes back out of the tv room.

Which reminds me: suggestions for a mid-tier standalone turntable?

Wait. Are there really people who don't know what a great actress Maggie Smith was? If that's the case, you start with The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. A truly iconic (NOT comedic) performance that earned Smith her first Oscar:

Maybe go for Olivier's 1965 version of Othello in which she plays Desdemona.

When I think about my favorite actors of all time, there are two that come to mind first; Peter O'Toole and Maggie Smith. Maggie Smith is without question one of the greatest actors ever. And if you haven't watched Downton Abbey it's worth watching for her scenes alone, she basically steals every scene she's in.

Edit: If you have Amazon Prime, "Evil Under the Sun" is available for free for a little while:

Honestly, I would just shop local sales and Facebook/Craiglist pages for someone dumping a good one. Same thing for audiophile forums. You can tell if it's been maintained.

If you're going newer, avoid anything with this POS like the plague:

You need to talk at me like I'm a moron. I don't know what that is.

I think I know what standalone means, but I want to be sure -- speakers bundled with it or just the turntable? If separate, do you need Bluetooth?

I will give you new options in a price range, but I'm going to say flat out that I think you'll get a much better deal buying a vintage Technics or Pioneer unless you need BT.
